 Valle Del Encanto is one of many archaeological sites in Chile. It’s deep history and petroglyphs make for a great adventure. You'll pass through the Chinchilla Reserve Park while taking the more rustic route from Salamanca. This area is a hotbed for early rock art and is littered with thousands of drilled stones. Learn about the Molle culture and their obsession with grinding and drilling stones. The stars are a site to behold in this area.

If exploring the mainland isn't enough you can add a 3 day extension to Easter Island. Explore the island's many megalithic Moai statues. Experience the Polynesian culture along with it's cuisine and history.

The amount of archaeological sites in Chile is truly astounding. Chile's rich history can be found around every corner. Most people are not aware that the Inca had a lot invested in expanding their empire further south from Peru and Bolivia. Visit parts of their ancient road system. See their "pukaras", or fortifications. Learn how the Inca controlled societies called Mitmae, made up of  neighboring indigenous groups and how their Southern expansion came to a halt by the hand of the Mapuche. Explore El Pucará de Chena. You will also visit the Southern most stronghold of the Inca Empire along with various other sites associated with "Piedras Tacitas "in the surrounding area.
