Private Andean Wedding Ceremony in the Sacred Valley, Peru

An Ancestral Wedding Celebration in the Misminay Community, Overlooking Moray

A beautiful and meaningful journey into the heart of the Peruvian Andes, where ancient traditions, breathtaking mountain landscapes, and the warmth of the local community come together to celebrate your union.

Your experience begins in the traditional Andean village of Misminay, where you'll be welcomed by the community before setting off on a gentle guided hike to your private wedding ceremony location near the Misminay viewpoint, overlooking the famous Moray archaeological site.

Surrounded by the magnificent Andean mountains, you'll take part in an ancestral wedding ceremony led by a traditional Andean paqo, honouring Pachamama (Mother Earth), the Apus (mountain spirits) and the beautiful journey you are continuing together.

This intimate Sacred Valley wedding experience combines authentic Andean traditions, a meaningful spiritual ceremony, local community hospitality and spectacular natural scenery, creating an unforgettable celebration in one of Peru's most extraordinary landscapes.

Your Private Andean Wedding Experience Includes-

Event Planning & Coordination

We'll take care of all the logistics, pre-ceremony planning, supplier arrangements and on-the-day coordination, allowing you to relax, be present and fully enjoy every moment of your special day.

Traditional Community Welcome

A warm welcome from the local Misminay community, accompanied by traditional Andean music performed by community members.

A wonderful introduction to the culture, traditions and hospitality of the Sacred Valley.

Guided Mountain Walk

Accompanied by local community members, you'll enjoy a gentle guided walk through the beautiful Andean landscape to your private wedding ceremony location.

Three donkeys will accompany the experience, two to help our team transport ceremonial decorations and equipment prior to your arrival, and one to assist your group with personal belongings.

Ancestral Andean Wedding Ceremony

A deeply meaningful traditional Andean wedding ceremony led by a paqo, conducted in Quechua, the ancestral language of the Andes.

Through sacred rituals, prayers and offerings, your union will be blessed in accordance with Andean traditions, honouring the natural world, Pachamama and the sacred mountains surrounding you.

Ritual Interpretation & Spiritual Guidance

An experienced interpreter will accompany your ceremony, providing translation from Quechua into English and/or Spanish while helping you understand the meaning and symbolism of each step of the ritual.

Traditional Ceremonial Elements & Despacho Offering

Your paqo will bring the traditional ceremonial textiles, sacred objects and ritual elements required for the ceremony.

This includes the preparation of a despacho, a beautiful and symbolic offering to Pachamama and the Apus, created using carefully selected natural elements representing gratitude, harmony, blessings and your intentions for your life together.

Live Ancestral Andean Music

Traditional Andean music performed live on ancestral instruments, bringing the beautiful sounds of the mountains into your celebration and accompanying the most meaningful moments of your wedding ceremony.

Ancestral Andean Sound Healing

Following your wedding ceremony, you'll be invited to enjoy a deeply relaxing Andean sound healing experience.

Using traditional Andean instruments and ancestral sounds, this peaceful closing ritual offers a moment to reflect, connect and embrace the energy of the mountains as you begin your journey together.

Floral Wedding Arch

A beautiful A-frame wedding arch decorated with locally grown seasonal flowers, thoughtfully arranged to complement the natural landscape and create a romantic setting for your Andean wedding ceremony.

Traditional Ceremony Styling

Your ceremony space will be thoughtfully decorated with traditional handwoven Andean mantas, colourful Peruvian textiles and comfortable cushions, complemented by soft sheepskin rugs.

The styling will reflect the colours, textures and cultural heritage of the Andes while creating a warm and welcoming space for your celebration.

Bridal Bouquet

A beautiful seasonal floral bouquet designed to complement the flowers of your ceremonial arch, bringing a cohesive and natural touch to your wedding celebration.

Sharing Traditional Andean Foods

The Misminay community will prepare a selection of traditional local foods for everyone to share after the ceremony.

Enjoy simple, nourishing Andean staples such as native potatoes, corn and other seasonal local specialities, accompanied by traditional drinks, including chicha morada.

This is a relaxed cultural food-sharing experience rather than a full lunch, offering an opportunity to spend a little more time with the community before your return walk.

You'll then make your way back to the village together, say your goodbyes and continue your journey to MIL Centro for your special tasting lunch.

Booking & Payment Terms

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your event date and confirm your experience with Casa Karima.

Your payment allows us to begin planning and coordinating your experience, reserve key suppliers and services, and decline other enquiries for the same date.

As planning and supplier commitments begin immediately upon confirmation, the full booking payment is non-refundable in the event of cancellation by the client.

Weather Considerations & Alternative Ceremony Location

As discussed, your ceremony is planned for 3 November, which falls at the beginning of the rainy season in the Sacred Valley. While we are hopeful for beautiful weather, mountain conditions can be unpredictable, and we cannot guarantee sunshine or dry conditions.

As this is a natural, open-air ceremony location, there is no covered alternative available at the mountain site. Our ceremony involves traditional floor seating with textiles, cushions, and sheepskin rugs, so holding the ceremony in the rain or on wet ground would not be comfortable or practical for you, your guests or our team. Even with a temporary tent, the experience would not be quite what we envision for your special day.

In the event of rain or unsuitable ground conditions, we would move the ceremony to an indoor space within the local Misminay village.

This would allow us to preserve the beauty and meaning of your Andean ceremony while ensuring everyone is comfortable and sheltered. Weather permitting, we can still enjoy the guided mountain walk, beautiful scenery and opportunities for photographs, even if the ceremony itself needs to take place indoors.

We'll keep a close eye on the weather as the date approaches and make the most appropriate decision together, prioritising everyone's comfort and the overall experience.
