Our day begins with a scenic journey from Quito into the heart of the Chocó Andino Biosphere Reserve. The drive itself is spectacular: we descend through the northwestern region of Pichincha, watching the Andean landscape transform into a magical cloud forest, often shrouded in mist and laced with life-filled rivers. The morning adventure kicks off with total nature immersion: an ecological hike along humid, biodiverse trails leading to the majestic Nambillo Waterfall. Here, you’ll be rewarded with a refreshing and well-deserved swim in its natural pool.
Elevate the excitement with two high-octane adventure activities. First, experience the forest from a unique perspective by flying over the canopy on our thrilling Zip Line (Canopy). Feel the freedom as you glide suspended in the air, taking in unmatched views of the Andean forest canopy. In the afternoon, the river’s whitewater awaits you for the exhilarating Tubing activity: hold tight to your inner tube and let the current carry you on a fun-filled descent full of twists and splashes—the perfect way to cap off the adventure segment.
Before heading back to Quito, we will dive into a world of color and delicacy at the Mindo Butterfly Garden (Mariposario). Get an up-close look at the fascinating life cycle of these lepidopterans and their vital role in the pollination and health of the cloud forest ecosystem. This visit offers a moment of peace and wonder, perfectly balancing the day’s adrenaline with a calm observation of the biodiversity that makes the Chocó Andino a truly unique destination on the planet.
