TUESDAY, OCTOBER 5TH - SHANNON ARRIVAL AND KILLARNEY

Day One – Welcome to Ireland

A warm welcome awaits you at Shannon Airport. Once everyone is on board, we will drive north for an hour or so to the quaint town of Adare for breakfast at Aunt Lena's, situated in Adare Village, arguably the prettiest village in Ireland. Established in 1806, it has famously served its patrons with great success. Our highly skilled kitchen team serves delicious traditional Irish food all day, and our bar stocks an extensive selection of beers, wines, and the finest Irish whiskeys to wash it down.

We'll then travel south to Killarney, stopping in Listowel to stretch our legs and visit with Billy Keane. A visit to Listowel is incomplete until you have soaked up the town's lively social scene and rich cultural pedigree, all in one hit with a trip to John B. Keane's Bar. The bar bearing his name, located in his former home and owned by his son Billy, remains a hugely vibrant part of the town’s social, sporting, and literary life! Billy is also a writer and hosts the Summer Pub Theatre in the bar along with his fellow actors, singers, and poets. We continue on to Killarney, our home for the next three nights at the Great Southern Hotel.

Built in 1854 with the remit to ‘take the guest’s breath away’, Great Southern Killarney still stands proudly as Killarney’s Premier Historic Hotel.  Great Southern is also part of the Hayfield Family Collection of properties, a family business led by local hoteliers, which also incorporates Killarney Royal and Hayfield Manor in Cork. Great Southern is a truly unique and iconic hotel, situated on 6 acres of beautiful gardens right in the heart of Killarney town center. Great Southern Killarney has enjoyed a most interesting and impressive history,, throughout which the hotel has fortunately retained its striking original Victorian features, while continually developing a deluxe guest experience featuring beautifully appointed accommodations. Guest facilities include the gourmet Garden Room Restaurant, the welcoming meeting point Brownes - The Bar, the Killarney Wine Room, home to the hotel’s wine tasting experience & a traditional Afternoon Tea service, which is served daily in The Grand Foyer, & the beautifully restful Reading Room Residents’ Lounge. As well as being surrounded by beautiful gardens right in the center of bustling Killarney town, Great Southern Killarney is also within a moment’s walking distance of the sublime Killarney National Park, & is favorably located alongside Killarney Railway Station.

Tonight, we gather for an exceptional culinary experience.

The show starts at 8.30 pm. We will have dinner at 6 pm at the Avenue Hotel before the show starts. Our host will greet you warmly and show you to your table, where you will enjoy a delicious four-course menu.

What makes Gaelic Roots so unique is its ability to seamlessly weave together the best of Irish culture. The show features a stellar lineup of talented dancers, musicians, and singers who bring the heart of Ireland to life on stage.

The dancers perform awe-inspiring choreography that combines traditional Irish step dancing with modern interpretations, showcasing both speed and precision in their footwork.
