Itinerary

Day 1
Rolous Temple Group & Life on the water

Pickup from your hotel at 08.00 and head to collect your Angkor Conservation Area Pass, and then you will drive the short distance to the Roluos group of temples, the oldest of all Angkorian temples.

Here you will visit the temples of Lolei, Preah Ko and the pyramid of Bakong, the first of the great pyramid mountain. From Bakong you continue into Roluos town to visit a local market, untouched by tourism.

You then follow the course of the Roluos river south to the nearest navigable point (N.B: depending on the water level you may have to use a motorbike taxi for the final section as it is not suitable for a vehicle).

There you board a small wooden boat for the journey to the floating and stilted village of Kompong Phluk and witness this incredible floating community. Depending on the lake level you will also have the surreal experience of being paddled amongst tree tops as you explore the flooded enchanted forest and witness the vast expanse of the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest in South East Asia.

Back in Siem Reap if you wish you can visit the holy mountain of Phnom Krom. After reaching the top you will be treated to a glorious sunset over the surrounding paddy fields and lake. You will then return to Siem Reap where the evening is free at your leisure.

Meals included: Lunch

Overnight in Siem Reap

We just finished what was a fantastic 3 day cycling trip. The cycling took us through some beautiful and amazing countryside, along quiet country roads and along trails, with very little traffic. We went across farmlands, rice fields, passed by many Buddhist temples and monasteries and through bustling villages. There were so many great sights to see. The Asia Adventures team were totally professional: very well organised, helpful, considerate and super- friendly. Ka and Lyny were great traveling companions. We will definitely be looking to join them again in a different tour in Cambodia again soon. 10 out of 10!,

this was a really special tour, in large part because of the great care and attention showered upon us by the staff of the Asia Adventures team. they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, safe and secure throughout what was quite a complicated almost 2 weeks of journeying all around Cambodia. They also provided much useful local information about history, culture and other matters. Their team were lively and interesting companions. Overall they went above and beyond all that was expected, even though this was a private tour. We would happily recommend them to all travellers.
