About this trip

Jhomolhari Yaksa Trek is, without a doubt, one of the most well-liked medium-level trekking routes in Bhutan and is very well-liked by hikers all over the world.

The walk begins in the village of Gunitsawa in the northwest of the nation, close to the Bhutan-China border. It travels north to Jangothang, the best camping location in the entire Himalayas. The track then veers off course, taking a circuitous route back to Gunitsawa Village after crossing several lovely highland trout lakes and breathtaking flower meadows.

We had been wanting to visit Nepal and Bhutan and decided to do so. I chose Perigrine based on the Tripadvisor reviews. What a great choice! We have nothing but accolades for this company and especially Pradip. Pradip was always available to answer our questions both in the US and in Nepal/Bhutan. No detail was overlooked - transportation, hotels, guides, and tours. Everything worked like clockwork. We toured all day and were pleasantly exhausted when we returned to the hotels and ready for dinner and a good night's sleep to begin the next day. We are already recommending Perigrine to our friends. The first thing that impressed us was the warmth and friendliness of the Nepalese people. We loved the historic district of Kathmandu, viewing the sunrise over the Annapurna range in Pokhara, and the wildlife in Chitwan. We were impressed by pristine Bhutan and the Buddhist culture. We were sad when parting from our guides and even sadder boarding our flight back home.

Alex was an extremely talented and informative helicopter pilot and guide… we received a thorough education about Mount Everest & the Himalayas… He worked very hard to ensure all passengers were able to take epic photos of the adventure… We were all literally on cloud nine… if only we could have stayed longer… We also enjoyed our breakfast with an extraordinary view of Mount Everest‼️ Thank you so very much Pradip and Peregrine for arranging this EPIC adventure for us‼️

It was an interesting trip but difficult. A lot of travel, early mornings. The trip to Tibet was very difficult. Five hours in a crowded jeep on really bad roads, the worst I have ever been on, to the Tibet border from Kathmandu. The hotels in Tibet outside of Lhasa had minimal heat, hard beds, and at times no hot water. We spent two 12-hour days on a bus driving to Lhasa, with very primitive toilets and sometimes none at all. The food is poor quality, not hot, with no seasoning, and is less than our standard of cleanliness. The sites, the people, and the culture make it all worthwhile, although if I had been informed that it was so difficult I would not have attempted this trip. We were informed as well as all others in our group that daily bus rides were 5 to 6 hours. Nepal and Bhutan were lovely, just too many 5 AM starts. If you plan to take this trip make sure you get the details as well as an up-to-date itinerary.

I flew back to Katmandu! The trip of 10 houwers by your bus was a disaster! Although having a ticket and seat number there was NO seat for me….. I didn’t even appear on the list! Could drive to Pokhara sitting wit 5 others next to the driver….. Although I didn’t walk that day, my step counter on my phone registered 18000 steps LOL

One of the best trip of my life. I have spent great moments with my guide Krishna. We really enjoyed every step of the Annapurna Circuit. I recommend the trip to anyone who wants a truly natural experience in the Himalaya.

The tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan was fantastic. We got to experience the culture and history of Kathmandu, the natural beauty of Pokhara, and the wildlife of Chitwan. The tour guides were knowledgeable, and the accommodations were great.
