You don't need a new life, you might just need to stop postponing the one you already dream about.
Life has a funny way of convincing us we'll finally take the trip. Just when work slows down enough, after we save a little more, and when life feels less busy.
But "someday" has a funny way of never arriving. If you've been craving more adventure, more laughter, more connection, or simply the feeling of being fully present again... I'd love to welcome you to one of my favorite places in the world.
For seven days, we'll trade our routines for barefoot mornings, warm Pacific waves, chef-prepared meals, meaningful conversations, and the kind of memories that somehow stay with us long after we've unpacked our suitcase.
Everything is taken care of from the moment you arrive. Your only job is to show up.
I'm often asked why I keep bringing women back here. The easy answer is because it's beautiful.
But I've traveled professionally for years, staying in incredible hotels and writing about destinations all over the world.
And I still come back to Nicaragua. There's something about the pace of life here. The warmth of the people, the untouched coastline, the feeling that life can actually be this simple.
This country helped me through one of the biggest chapters of my own life, and every year I have the privilege of sharing a little piece of it with another group of women. I hope you'll let me share it with you, too.
At a Living in Flow retreat, not everything is scheduled. There is space to explore, rest, and simply be.
Throughout the week we'll...
🌊 Learn to surf with incredible local instructors (beginners are more than welcome.)
🧘 Practice yoga overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
⭕ Dance, laugh, and reconnect through hula hoop.
🌴 Spend slow afternoons by the pool, in the ocean, or on a lounger with a book.
🍽️ Gather around the table for beautiful meals prepared by our favorite local team.
🔥 Watch the sun disappear into the ocean with sand between our toes.
Because sometimes the moments that change us aren't the ones we planned. They're the conversations after dinner, first wave you finally catch, and that friend you didn't know you were going to meet.
One of my favorite days of the retreat takes us beyond the beach and into the heart of Nicaragua.
Together we'll take in panoramic views from Laguna de Apoyo, an ancient volcanic crater lake, cruise across Lake Nicaragua with views of Mombacho Volcano, wander Granada's colorful colonial streets, and listen to live marimba music drifting through the plazas.
As a travel writer, one of the greatest gifts I think travel offers is perspective. Not just because we see somewhere new. But because we learn from the people, the culture, and the landscapes that shape it.
I hope you'll leave Nicaragua feeling like you've experienced far more than a vacation.
One of the questions I get asked most often is: "Will I be the only one coming alone?"
Almost never! Most women arrive without knowing anyone. By the end of the week, they're making plans to visit each other, planning future trips together, and wondering why they waited so long.
Living in Flow retreats welcome women from all walks of life.
Some are celebrating a new chapter while others are finding their way through one. Some ladies simply know they're ready for a new adventure.
No matter what brings you here... You'll be welcomed exactly as you are.
This retreat isn't just about the destination, we gather as like-minded women to experience it together.
Before anyone reserves their spot, I like to meet each woman over a relaxed discovery call.
It's a chance for us to get to know one another, answer your questions, hear what's bringing you to Nicaragua, and make sure this experience feels like the right fit.
This isn't a sales call, it's a conversation. If we both feel excited about the week ahead, I'll help you choose the room that's right for you and walk you through the booking process.
For six nights we'll stay at 99 Surf Lodge, our boutique beachfront surflodge on Nicaragua's Pacific coast. After years of traveling professionally, it's still one of my favorite places to stay.
The retreat includes:
✨ Six nights at our boutique beachfront surf lodge
✨ A fully staffed hotel and restaurant, proudly recognized in the Michelin Hotel Guide
✨ Roundtrip airport transfers
✨ Daily chef-prepared meals
✨ Two beginner-friendly surf lessons
✨ Three yoga sessions
✨ Three hula hoop sessions
✨ A full-day cultural adventure through Nicaragua
✨ Plenty of free time to slow down, explore, or simply do nothing at all.
If you've made it this far... I have a feeling a part of you is already imagining yourself here. Waking up to the sound of the ocean, trying something you've never done before, and laughing with women who, just a few days earlier, were complete strangers.
Maybe this is your sign to stop waiting for "someday."
(And if you're worried you have to be "good" at surfing... trust me, the ocean doesn't care. Neither do we. 😂)
I'd love nothing more than to welcome you to Nicaragua.
See you at the beach. 🤍

Melanie
