Your journey to us
You’ll need to book your own flights to and from Alta Airport (ALF) in Norway.
Extended stays
Any extra nights at the hotel outside the trip dates will be at your own expense.
Extra alcoholic drinks
Each dinner includes a drink on us. Due to the remote location of our trip, all additional beverages need to be pre-ordered. We will send out a menu prior to your arrival.
Personal expenses
Personal expenses like souvenirs, some alcoholic beverages and laundry services aren’t included in the package.
Gratuities
Tipping your guides is up to your discretion.
Travel insurance
Guests must have travel insurance covering helicopter Medevac and SAR. Important: A copy of your insurance certificate must be submitted to us before your trip begins.

Arrive in Alta, the “City of The Northern Lights”
After your early afternoon arrival, we’ll drive one to two hours (depending on the snow conditions) along the winding shores of the Altafjord to reach Låvan Lodge. As we get closer, the mountains rise and the landscape begins to hint at the adventure ahead. After settling in, we’ll gather for welcome drinks and a cosy dinner in a boathouse by the fjord—your first taste of life above the Arctic Circle.

Carve your path through the Arctic wilderness
On our first full day, we’ll dive into an intro to ski touring and gear at the lodge. We’ll tailor the day to your skill level, offering a gentle loop for some and a longer, more challenging route for others.

We’ll climb with the light and descend by headlamp, then refuel with lunch around the bonfire. Back at the lodge, you can unwind in the sauna or hot tub before dinner and storytelling at the boathouse.

Push further into the peaks
With your first tour behind you, this day will be about building confidence and reaching higher peaks. We’ll head to a new mountain in search of fresh snow and wide-open views, with options to increase elevation depending on the group’s energy.

After a full day out, we’ll return to the lodge to rest and reset. In the evening, we’ll get together for a special dinner prepared by a local guest chef.

Find your flow on the slopes
By now, the rhythm of ski touring will feel more familiar. On this day, you can opt for a shorter or longer route depending on your energy and interest—it’s all about finding your own flow in the mountains. Afterward, we’ll unwind in the hot tub or sauna before a well-earned dinner back at the lodge.

Mush your own dogsled team
Post-breakfast, we’ll take a trip to a local dog farm in Langfjordbotn. After a hands-on introduction to dogsledding, you’ll get to know your team, learn how to rig your sled and test your skills on the trail.

Our day wraps up with cakes, hot coffee and stories by the fire—shared by the mushers who’ve spent decades working with sled dogs.

Choose your own Arctic adventure
Post-breakfast, we’ll head back to Alta and settle into our cosy hotel overlooking the fjord. After lunch, the day is free for you to create your own adventure: explore the frozen Alta River by fatbike with a local guide or cross-country ski on groomed tracks at Sarves Ski Resort, where you can rent gear if needed. No matter what you choose, you’ll spend the afternoon immersed in Norway’s Arctic beauty.

In the evening, we’ll gather for a special farewell dinner at Trasti & Tine—a final celebration of our weeklong journey.

Explore or unwind before departure
Depending on your flight time, you can either visit the Alta Museum to explore the region’s rich history or take some time to wander the city centre. When you’re ready, we’ll drive you to the airport and say our final goodbyes.

Arrive in Alta, the “City of The Northern Lights”

I recently returned from the KME Ski Tour, Dog Sled and Fat Tire bike trip in Finnmark. It was an amazing experience in a stunningly beautiful part of the world hosted by the best team. It was the first trip for this group (KME and the guests) and everything was executed perfectly. The hosts and local guides were kind, extremely knowledgeable and wonderful to be around. The setting is beyond breathtaking and the itinerary allows you to feel very connected to the area and the locals. The ski touring was insane-take your breath away beauty at all times. I would highly recommend a KME trip for anyone who loves authentic active adventure. I can't wait for my next trip with this exceptional team!

Special is how I would describe this trip! A great departure from one's everyday routine in a beautiful land, taking it all in, while being physically active and socially interactive with great people who really want to facilatate (and make a reality) your best trip ever!! Super cool and massively remote location. Lots of tough weather which made the trip more dynamic than planned but the team did a great job adapting and ultimately created a great experience for guests. Really expert guide work by the expedition leaders, which was made all the more challenging by the conditions. Grateful to them for the knowledge and leadership the displayed. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. The food and drink plentiful and delicious. The professionalism and comms before, during and after the trip were great.

I had a wonderful experience traveling to Norway with Klattermusen Experiences in January 2025. It was one of my most memorable trips. This team is one of the most hospitable , accommodating, efficient teams I’ve ever had the pleasure of traveling with. They anticipated our needs, and by the end of the trip they made us feel like family. They also did a great job of making sure we were clear on the activities for the week and answered any questions to make sure we felt comfortable. They were also very accommodating to my level of comfort with certain activities. I wasn’t comfortable with riding the fat bikes so Yahnny Stayed with me to help me relearn how to ride a bike and make sure that I was safe and still able to enjoy the experience while the more advanced group went ahead. I would not hesitate to join Klattermusen experiences for another tour.

My most memorable moment? There were many! But there was something so profoundly and simply beautiful and emblematic of the experience in the moment we stopped at the bottom of a hill, just past a mesmerizing lake, and Erik 2 foraged tiny, incredibly sweet wild strawberries from the roadside, skewered them on a twig, and handed them to me as a treat. We were really feeling the effort at that point in the ride, and this small moment of respite—punctuated by a) local, foraged, seasonal fruit that symbolizes Midsommar and b) the deep local knowledge and natural, easygoing care of the crew—felt almost spiritual and totally magical. We truly wanted for nothing on this adventure; all was provided by either nature or your team.
