Magical. This is the word to describe the first half of the marathon. As you go out at sunrise, ascending the rose valley, you can’t help but wonder if you’ve been transported to a fairy tale as dozens of balloons dot the morning sky. It is an experience that I will never forget. The second half was not as nice but still had some cool moments. It was the first edition, so we had a few hiccups with aid stations and other things during the trip, but nothing to really spoil the experience. In any case, I would recommend taking a hydration vest just to be safe. The group was amazing, very funny and friendly.

Nikki and I very much enjoyed our trip. The group was friendly and amusing. Apollo, Blanca and Richard were pleasant professionals. I only wish that we could do it again.

As we have probably read, Inca Marathon is one of the toughest, if not the hardest marathon out there. For me, it was the combined trekking in the altitude and the technical descent was the grueling part, but yes, the last half, I was able to run/walk with sore quads and hamstrings. Despite all that, we were rewarded with awesome, just majestic views of the mountains and valleys and streams. You can’t beat that. And many thanks to the organizer of the group, Apolo, the team leader, Abelardo and the staff, the horses and mules, of Wild Marathon that made these all happen. They did a fantastic job, organizing every detail. The hotels, the restaurants, the food that was prepared along the way, the courteous staff and of course, the cultural aspect, made this trip a memorable experience. I have actually signed up another trip with them, on their Kilimassai marathon in Africa July 2025. This is how much I trust them.

I join the Artic Marathon in Finland, in april 2025. It was a great experience, full of activities: running a marathon in Rovaniemi, doing cross country ski, discover Rovaniemi and its christmas village, Sauna and baths in the iced lake, seeing the aurora borealis. I have met a lot of beautiful people. Thanks to Apolo and his family.
