About this trip

We are beyond excited about our inaugural trip to Argentina in 2023. Our Director of Operations, Pamela Aguilar, lived in Argentina previously for 5 years and has just recently returned from a three-week trip to her former home. During her time in Argentina, she was catching up with old friends while scouting things out for our new tour to Argentina. We will be releasing additional details and a full itinerary shortly, but rest assured this trip will include incredible food and wine, history, culture, and stunning landscapes!

The Heart of Travel was born out of a deep-rooted love and passion for travel, art, history, food, nature, culture and adventure as well as a call to give back to the communities and people that had already provided us with so much. The travel industry has long been bombarded with double decker tour busses, beach front resorts and cruise ships, often at the expense of the local communities. As a response to this failing system, we began a boutique travel company that allows clients to explore new places in an authentic and non-touristy way, offering travelers a more intimate and unique experience all while removing the stress and hassle of researching, planning, bargain hunting, reserving and more that goes along with planning a trip or vacation.

We had a wonderful trip to Costa Rica. We were with a great group of people and enjoyed comfortable accommodations, good food, and interesting outings. We visited three different geographic areas in Costa Rica and learned a great deal about the plants, animals and people in each. Our guides were informative and fun, and Chelsea handled every situation with ease.

Most amazing trip ever. Wonderfully organized covering many insightful aspects of Ecuadorian culture and its varied people. Great to learn all that is done to preserve Ecuador’s special natural treasures. Our Ecuadorian guide, Gustavo, went over and above to make our visit the best I have ever had when traveling in a foreign country.

Gustavo, our guide, was wonderful! He was attentive to details & helpful & organized. Great meals including choices like fresh fish and the desserts were fabulous. All the animals and great activities were life changing . Our days were packed with adventure. Some of the boat rides & bus rides in the Galapagos were long & uncomfortable. The accommodations were quite good and ranged from excellent (Hotel de la Isla) to comfortable with a view. (Casa de María needs some hooks to hang things in the rooms but the views were magnificent so can’t complain too much. ) All the support staff from guides to drivers, etc. we’re very warm & welcoming.

Absolutely loved the casa gardenia. Such great breakfasts options. Passion fruit is my new favorite... and such GREAT service. They anticipated our every need... even had food to go for our EARLY morning departures. Thank you !

Had a wonderful guide that knew all the best spots to share with us. He kept us busy without feeling overwhelmed. He was extremely informative about what we were experiencing and sharing the culture.
