We'll embark on a 3 day 2 night trip through the Arkansas Buffalo National forest seeing some of the most beautiful parts of Arkansas. Don't miss it!
Come join us on this sure-to-be-epic adventure with your spouse in the beautiful Buffalo National River Forest. Over the course of a 3 day - 2 night backpacking trip covering 15-20 miles; we will have opportunities to do river crossings, explore a cave, abandoned cabins and scenic overlooks and vistas. Most of all; we'll have fun!
Based on double/triple occupancy. These BigAgnes Coppur Spur UL3 tents are ultralight and some of the best on the market.
Fitted and sized just for you. We offer 50 and 65L bags
Depending on weather, we offer Nemo 35 or 15 deg sleeping bags
One key to sleeping well in the outdoors is a good mattress. Allowing you to sleep 3" off the ground, these ultralight sleeping pads will keep you warm and comfortable.
Jet Boil has it going on. Participants will be supplied with a Jetboil cook system to boil water.
We do not carry tons of water. Participants carry a lightweight water filter system to pump water when needed filtering out 99.9999% microbes and viruses.
We supply freeze dried meals which are healthy, lightweight and delicious.
We do provide a list though :)
- 10am - Meet at the Buffalo Outdoor Center for bathroom stop.
- 10:30 - Drive to Lost Valley Trailhead
- 10:45 - Hike 2mi down Lost Valley Trail, check out the Cave and the Falls.
- 1pm - Back at the vehicles, learn to pack gear, filter water at nearby creek (staying at dry camp tonight)
- Drive to BOC, park vehicles, turn in keys and hike to Ponca Trailhead and plan to get 4-5
miles down trail
- ~4-5pm - Arrive at camp off BRT (looking toward Big Bluff)and prepare site
- Setup Camp
- Prepare Dinner
- Build Fire
- Debrief
- 7:00am - wake up, breakfast, quiet time
- 7:30am - pack up camp, finish breakfast, repack bags
- 8:30am- 4pm - Hike down BRT, past Beech Creek toward Kyles Landing. From Kyles, take the ORT to Centerpoint to Goat Trail/Big Bluff. Stop to filter water on way out.

- Goat Trail and Big Bluff Overlook
- Granny Henderson’s abandoned cabin
- Hemmed Hollow
- Multiple River Crossings
- ~4-5pm - Arrive at new campsite (Multiple options near Beech Creek or
Centerpoint)and make camp for the day
- Setup Camp
- Filter Water
- Prepare Dinner
- Build Fire
- Debrief Day
- 8:00am - wake up, breakfast, quiet time
- 8:30am - pack up camp, finish breakfast, filter water, repack bags
- 9:30am - back on the trail.

- Hike back to the Trailhead
- Multiple water crossings (weather and water permitting)
- arrive back at vehicles
- 3pm - Arrive back at Vehicles for gear inventory and departure
