Options 1 and 2: Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 January 2026
This retreat is located in a fantastic hotel in Arundel with large craft rooms, delicious food and good accommodation. There are 2 crafting groups: sewing crafters and paper crafters.
You will receive a goody bag and a craft kit. There usually are extra optional classes to purchase and craft shops too!
You have selected to arrive on Thursday 15th January 2026 and set up from 5pm.
The total price is all inclusive and depends if you are sharing a room or not.
This is an oversubscribed group, so don't delay if you are interested in joining us.
The address: Avisford Park Hotel, Yapton Lane, Walberton, Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 0LS
There are 2 types of accommodation: single occupancy and double occupancy.
The double occupancy bedrooms will be twin bed rooms; however, in the unlikely event that the hotel cannot guarantee a twin bed room, you might be asked to share a double bed. Please look out for the question later on.
We are using 2 conference rooms for the weekend.
The paper crafters are located in the Henty Room to the left of the reception desk.
The sewing crafters will be using the Terrace room which is located down the little stairs through the bar and to the right just before entering into the lounge.
You will have a pack with instructions for projects using the products in it (craft). The sewing kit comes with a gorgeous selection of fabrics. Of course, you are welcome to use the paper or sewing kit in whichever way you would like, the paper craft projects are 12x12 pages and they will be on display for you to see what you are aiming for, but you do not have to do them and can use the paper kit for cards, journaling or more.
You will also need to bring your own stash and basic craft tools/equipment (including mats and basics) so you keep busy all weekend: feel free to bring whatever craft you are into, including mixed media, knitting, crochet, etc... Do not worry if you have forgotten something, I am sure that among us, there will be plenty to share out. Remember to bring photos if you are scrapbooking!
Each craft room will have a dedicated space for a shop. Please check with the shops how they would like to operate during the weekend.
Lunches are buffet style with baked potatoes, a selection of fillings such as tuna mayonnaise, cheese, baked beans, as well as cold meats and a salad bar.
Dinners are plated 3 course meals and you will be asked to make your selection nearer the time. Sunday lunch is also a plated 3 course meal.
The hotel boosts an indoor swimming pool, Health Spa and Gym; all of which you will have access to. However all treatments will be extra.
It’s been a long standing tradition that every time you finish a project, you call out ‘Scrappy Bear’ and the previous owner will pass it on to you (or throw it to you 😊). In turn, you will pass it on to the next person who shouts ‘Scrappy Bear’. When you hear the timer go off, the person with the scrappy bear gets to keep it!
Another long standing tradition is our raffle. Except that for the last couple of years, all proceeds from the raffle go towards a nominated charity.
Raffle tickets will be on sale on Saturday morning after breakfast at £2 a strip or £5 for 3 strips with prizes to be won. The prizes will be on display in the Henty room and they will cater for paper and sewing crafters alike. The draw will be straight after Sunday lunch.
