This Kindergarten is located on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, next to an old landfill site. In front of the urgent need of a kindergarten, a mother of the neighborhood bought a land and started to build the place with their own resources, the help of the neighbors and the volunteers.
With the help of the donations, she built 3 classrooms and a playground for the kids to be in a safe place to play, eat, share and start their initial education. About 60 children in the age 3-5 attend everyday while their parents are working. The kindergarten is an educational center where the kids can develop both intellectually and emotionally.
There is one professional teacher who trains the mothers and volunteers to carry on with the educational activities. The children also get breakfast and a warm lunch every day, and participate in different activities: artistic, music and sports. The two “maestras” (teachers), Lore and Vivi, feel that it is important that the children learn how to work together in solidarity and mutual respect.
