About this trip

Join us for this adventure of a lifetime across the high altitude plains of Bolivia and Chile, including the world's largest salt flat and the Atacama Desert. Join professional astrophotographer Kevin Floerke for an immersive workshop designed to sharpen your photography skills by day and night. Capture photos of otherworldly landscapes, beautiful wildlife, and the best dark skies on earth. The Salar de Uyuni sits at over 12,000 feet with very little light pollution, offering unparalleled dark skies. I booked this sunset to stars photography workshop for my husband's birthday, as he is new to photography, and it turned out to be the highlight of our weeklong vacation in the Southwest for him. Kevin is not only an expert photographer and educator, but also extremely knowledgeable about the cultural and social dimensions of astronomy - probably a result of his training in archeology - so he regaled us all (including our kids ages 13 and 9) with many stories. Fabulous experience! Thank you Kevin and we look forward to connecting again in Sedona or elsewhere in the world!

My best friend and I took a private photo tour with Kevin for my first time visiting Sedona. He was incredibly knowledgeable on the cameras I brought with me, and also taught us things about iPhone photography we didn't know! He showed us some beautiful locations, and gave us some history about Arizona too. The photo tour was truly a highlight of our trip and I am so happy with the photos he helped us take. I highly recommend taking a tour with Kevin!

I recently took a photo tour Kevin arranged and led through the Bolivian salt flats and Atacama Desert in Chile. Kevin relied on his knowledge and experience in the region to identify perfect locations for capturing incredible shots of wildlife, landscapes, and the Milky Way as well as managing the logistics of getting to and staying comfortably in some very remote locations. I have been an amateur photographer for 40+ years, but this was my first serious go at night shooting. I joked to a friend that Kevin is the Julia Child of astrophotography. He shows you step by step what you need to know and then gives you the opportunity to do it yourself. It was a great experience!
