We had an amazing, awe-filled time!! We can't stop telling people about our Away to Africa experience!!! Away to Africa provided me and my partner with the most amazing experience we have had in our lifetime. We enjoyed the level of detail that was put into making our first time to Africa educational and magical. Our hosts' familiarity with Senegal allowed us to have an immersive experience. We not only felt safe, but we felt as if we were being welcomed back home to family. I would give Tiffanie and the staff at Away to Africa 10 stars, flowers, and my dedication to use this company again and again. See you in Africa!

My trip to Senegal with Away to Africa wrapped up 6 weeks ago and I am still processing the tremendously enriching experience I had over those 10 days! It was my first time visiting Africa and traveling that far internationally. From the beginning of the process before signing up for the trip, Tiffanie did a great job answering questions about the trip package and the logistics of international travel. She also ran a couple of group Zoom/phone calls with everyone in the travel group, the first as an introductory call so folks could meet each other and ask questions, and another in the weeks leading up to the trip to answer additional questions. Those were very helpful in ensuring I had the information needed to prepare for the trip. It is hard for me to put into words how amazing the trip itself was. We saw the real country as opposed to having a limited, resort-style experience. A few highlights are bulleted below: - Visiting Fulani and Serer villages - Going ATV riding on the Atlantic Oceam beachfront after seeing Lac Rose/Pink Lake, a major regional attraction and one of the saltiest lakes in the world - Seeing the African Renaissance Monument (the largest statue in Africa) and several museums including the Museum of Black Civilizations - Seeing Gorée Island and the Door of No Return - Going to Bandia Wildlife Reserve and seeing rhinos, antelopes, zebras, and other animals - Boat rides at Somone Lagoon and the Delta of Saloum - A local community taking us in with a cooking class and naming ceremony Additionally, if there’s a specific interest you have in the country that is not represented in the standard trip schedule, let Tiffanie know and Away to Africa will work to customize your trip experience to accommodate your interest. I was able to do this to experience Laamb, a traditional style of Senegalese wresting. Our unforgettable experience was made possible by the best tour guides I’ve ever had: Mika, Ali, and Ali. The hospitality and kindness extended to us by everyone in Senegal fills me with appreciation and still makes my eyes water all these weeks later as I type out this review. To conclude: go to Africa (and Senegal should be near the top of your destination list!), and when you do, traveling with Away to Africa is an excellent choice that you can’t go wrong with. Sign up for a trip and prepare yourself for an enriching and life-changing experience. Thank you Tiffanie, Mika, Ali, and Ali so much!

This trip was a dream come true! I only imagined as a child of visiting Africa. Little did I know that Away to Africa could make that possible. Working directly with the CEO, Tiffanie Anderson made it even more stress free. Tiffanie was accommodating, patient, and always was available for any questions, issues or concerns. She is extremely professional, and she is highly knowledgeable. I have recommended Away to Africa to several friends, coworkers, and family. They will be booking soon! Thank you Tiffanie, and all of the kind, sweet individuals that made my first trip to Africa a dream come true!!!! I will never forget it!!!!!!!! I will be booking another trip to Africa with Away to Africa in 2024! -Mya

The trip was wonderful, everytying went smoothly. Our tour guides Mika and Ali were fabulous. We blew a tire going a on tour and you would think this might cause a kink in the day, but nope. Everyone handled the blown tire like champs. Our group patiently waited for the tire to be replaced and Mike, Ali, and our driver Ali made sure we were made comfortable. The whole tour was educational, fun, and alot more than i anticipated. We went on safari! Goree island was a dream come ture too see. We had a naming ceremony where there was dancing for hours. Drum beat was our heart beat. 5 stars!
