      About this trip

Australia’s unique allure is boundless. Its mystical splendor emanates from the timeless land and sea, dynamic scenery and majestic wildlife, captivating flavors and enchanting culture. A giant island afloat in the Great Southern Ocean, cut off from the rest of the world for millennia, this most ancient of continents has long hidden its startling beauty and remarkable native wildlife from the rest of the world. Inhabited by Aboriginal people who have coexisted with the land for more than 40,000 years, it was into this pristine wilderness that the British first arrived in 1788, and for the next 100 years, this beguiling land remained the haunt of convicts, explorers and spirited free settlers, who along with growing bands of intrepid gold-miners, pearlers, farmers and traders, forged an Australian spirit that is characterized by independence, irreverence, and a good dose of humor. Today, Australia dazzles with its contrasting landscapes and its extraordinary diversity. This vast, pristine land is affluent, sophisticated, multicultural and laced with natural splendor: from tropical rain forests to fiery red deserts in the vast Outback, from scenic vineyards, producing excellent Cabarnet Sauvignon and Shiraz to gleaming modern and funky cities, and from idyllic underwater paradise of the Great Barrier Reef to the Aboriginal culture and art.

Wonderful people, small, tight accommodations for double rooms, good food. Tour was very passive and not interactive enough for me. Saw a good portion of Switzerland which was good!

The trip was well planned. I met 16 wonderful women. Our tour guide, Marta Rz., was knowledgeable and inspiring. This was my first trip with Sights & Souls. It didn’t disappoint! Debra L.

It was a great trip. Our trip leader, Marta, was excellent and went above and beyond to take care of us. Hotels, food, and activities were all excellent.

This was my first experience with a travel group and it was wonderful. Our tour director, Eileen Grant, was great and the women in the group made it very enjoyable. I highly recommend going to Scotland, it's beautiful and the Scots are just as friendly.

Before I went on the Poland tour, my friends at home asked "Why would you go to Poland?" The answer now is that it is a beautiful country with lots of history, great food and drinks and lovely people --exactly as I expected! Poland has endured a lot in the past and we should all learn about that. Warsaw and Krakow have the European Old Town vibe and modern amenities without the hordes of tourists and a bit more economical than the rest of Europe. We also saw the beautiful countryside in our trips to the National Parks. Marta, the tour director, was outstanding as always and she gave us many insights into life in Poland. What a better way to spend a Sunday than lunch at Lazienki Palace and a Chopin concert in the Rose Garden! I'm usually not a fan of cooking but our class was a lot of fun, a credit to the two instructors and the tour members who all pitched in to make a great meal. There were more highlights, some sombre, some beautiful, but all in, a very worthwhile and enjoyable trip.
