About this trip

Celebrate the balance between light and dark with a nature-filled weekend retreat to the Mendocino coast. During our weekend of seasonally inspired yoga, we'll stay on a secluded fruit & flower farm nestled on the cusp of woods and sea. Think huge starry skies, simple nourishing food, fires and tea (or wine) and all the fresh air your lungs can handle! We'll have plenty of free time to explore the surrounding wilderness. Options include kayaking along the Gualala River, visit local beaches, hiking, picking fruit from the orchard, or just laze around and soak up the simplicity of farm living.

FOOD

BREAKFAST

Provided on both Saturday and Sunday morning, these meals will be more casual - homemade fixings will be provided. Breakfasts will likely consist of farm fresh eggs, home made bread, granola, jam, yogurt, fruit + coffee and tea.

DINNER

Organic, seasonal vegetarian dinners will be provided on Friday and Saturday evening and cooked by our lovely hosts! Please let us know if you have any allergies or diet preferences.

LUNCH

On Saturday afternoon we will enjoy homemade soup, salad and bread.

ACCOMMODATIONS

THE FARMHOUSE

The farmhouse is off the grid and stands on a forty acre organic fruit and flower farm. The interior is beautiful knotty pine with log and beam rustic style construction. There is a huge living space complete with a wood fired stove (which is the main source of heat for the house). Wood milled from trees on the permaculture farm/homestead have been used in all the construction. We will share three hand made bathrooms detailed with slate and travertine. The main farmhouse, fruit orchards and gardens are ours to enjoy and will be tended by our hosts daily.

SLEEPING

3 private rooms (one queen, two kings)

2 shared rooms (each with one double & one queen)

1 triple room (one double and a bunk bed). These smaller rooms are located in the kitchen house and have a partially open wall and therefore are less private than the others.

PLEASE NOTE: SPACE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED AND IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. IF YOU WANT TO SHARE A BED WITH SOMEONE IN ONE OF THE PRIVATE ROOMS, PLEASE CONTACT MARINA FOR PRICING.

Marina is a life-long Bay Area resident, yogini mama and lover of all that is wild. Her classes, workshops and retreats invite students to explore the details of all experiences with the utmost passion and curiosity. For her, yoga asana is an embodied ritual which has the capacity to uncover our most vibrant, potent selves. Her slow moving vinyasa classes are alignment-rich, highly creative, and meant to honor and celebrate each students unique connection to yoga. One of her greatest joys is being able to merge my love for nature with my passion for yoga.

What a treat to be on retreat with Marina and her diverse and conscious community of yogis. The setting was beautiful, the food was delicious, and our leader created a context to unwind that allowed us to get into our bodies in no time.. She was very responsive to the energy of the group, providing a supportive space for all of us to walk the fine line between exertion and relaxation. It was a perfect weekend getaway!

This trip was even more magical than I hoped it would be, and I returned fully recharged. Marina is a fantastic trip leader--fun, flexible, responsive to evolving group needs, and always willing to hang out, laugh or lead a hiking adventure. The location--an off-the-grid fruit and flower farm in Mendocino--was so special, with delicious local vegetarian food, an outdoor shower that looked like it was built by fairies, fires at night, extra-comfy beds, and a warm owner who invited us to wander her orchards and pick any fruit we wanted to eat. We practiced wrapped in fog; hiked to the ocean; watched the sunset and the full moon rise over the redwoods. Amazing!

I adore Marina’s regular yoga class as well as her retreats, and this one was no exception. Gorgeous magical West Marin property; blissful sound healing with Aleksandra; sweet hostess and of course Marina’s sunny vibes. My friend and I felt like we had gotten away for much longer than just a day!

I had a very nice relaxing time listening to the birds, doing yoga, eating lunch and tasting mead. Marina is fantastic and I would do it all again in the future :)
