Lining up astrologically just before the Aries New Moon, AWAKEN calls us to take time to pause and ask ourselves, has my true wild and inner Goddess nature been lying dormant? When did I last take the time to cultivate and set intention for my deepest desires? What rituals would I like to introduce into my life to create more intentional and powerful routine dynamics?
Over the course of the weekend, every day will start mindfully with journaling, meditation, and yoga. Afternoons will be used to play with nearing water elements, whether kayaking on the lake, shredding (or at least attempting to) down the slopes, or intuitively painting with water colors. Evenings are for cozy ceremonial vibes of deeper reflection and connection, and it wouldn't be a true Goddess weekend without a cold plunge for howling at the moon. AWOOO! Sprinkled at intentional times, following the light, there will be photo session opportunities (solo and group) to capture on camera your Goddess essence, to have as keepsake, ESPECIALLY for those days that you need help to remember your true nature.
Wisdom of Water Retreats are a collaborative vision between Jen and Ashley to dive into all that the water element has to teach us, in all its various forms of how it appears to us in this lifetime. With humans being around 60% water, it makes sense that just as the tides pull the ocean, we too would be affected by these moon cycles. It is our hope to create an ongoing sisterhood that is a brave container of playful exploration.
A Texas native, spending the last couple years abroad in serendipitous travels, and now calling Nicaragua home for over the past year, Ashley found yoga as a senior in high school, and has been teaching for the past 6 years. She is Vinyasa 200 RYT certified with additional education such as Energetic Anatomy, Bhakti (devotional storytelling), and Foundations of Trauma Therapy. All of these trainings combined leave her teachings stylized as mindful movement from the heart and a poetic storytelling for the body. She believes in living fearlessly and compassionately, and gives credit to yoga for helping to continue to lead her on the right intuitive path.
Jen is a photographer and artist specializing in goddess shoots with women and brand imagery that captures the beauty and essence of her subjects. Her style is filled with light, emotion, and authenticity. She studied at Parsons School of photography in Paris and has shot brand work, retreats, weddings, portraiture, and editorial imagery internationally for the past 15 years. She also hosts an intimate weekly figure drawing experience blending meditation, breathwork, sound, and creativity. She practices yoga daily and is passionate about empowerment, self evolution, and finding joy and adventure.
