About this trip

Join Andrea Russell on a meditation retreat close to home in the tranquil woods of Northern Wisconsin.

During this fully guided and supported retreat, we’ll focus on slowing down and deepening your meditation practice. Days will include gentle yoga to prepare your body for sitting, several periods of seated and walking meditation, dharma talks, and opportunities to ask questions and receive support. Much of our time together will be spent observing noble silence, enabling us to turn our attention inward and create community based on shared devotion to practice.

Each afternoon there will be free time to walk in the woods, sit on benches overlooking the pond, drink tea, read, knit, or whatever else feels relaxing and restorative.

It’s a wonderful and welcoming environment for those who are new to retreats and/or yoga and meditation.

The Christine Center, 3 hours northwest from Madison, is nestled in the tranquil woods of northern Wisconsin on 125 acres, offering a nurturing and supportive environment for deepening practice and connection. The retreat center is run by a group of Franciscan nuns and for 30 years has been a center open to all paths of faith and spirituality.

(10-hours of continuing education are available for Yoga Alliance registered teachers)

I’m an Ayurvedic health counselor, yoga and meditation teacher, and neurovascular therapist living in Madison, Wisconsin. I have been in private practice and teaching since 2000. My classes and retreats integrate Ayurvedic wisdom, meditation and a mindful approach to asana that brings attention to anatomy, optimal alignment, strength, breath, and inner awareness. This practice cultivates abounding health in body and mind while inspiring you to live a more grounded and compassionate life. I offer a variety of trainings, workshops, and retreats, both locally and abroad. I have a deep love for travel, local food, and spending time with my pitbull Lucy. I look forward to working together. Gratefully, Andrea P.S. Head over to http://andrearussell.com/about/ to get my full story!

I don't know if I can put into words what this retreat meant to me. Although I booked the retreat many months before it took place, it came at the exact right time. I was burned out and extremely tired from work and life. Itha108 was extremely beautiful. The staff, scenery, meals, rooms and everything was perfect. Andrea and Liz did an extraordinary job with the daily meditation, yoga practices and keeping us informed on everything. Andrea offered many suggestions for alignments and options I can take during my practice to help challenges with my knees. I learned so much about food, digestion and much more. I'm excited to dig into learning more about ayurvedic practices and hopefully apply them to my lifestyle to help combat inflammation and pain in my body. I highly recommend this retreat and other retreats with Andrea. Not only is she an amazing yoga instructor and well versed in ayurvedic practices, she is the most amazing person. Liz was the perfect assistant and compliment to Andrea. I can't say enough about what this retreat meant to me. I will carry the memories of this retreat with me forever.

The perfect retreat. Retreat setting was idyllic. Daily schedule had amazing meditation and yoga activities. Local beaches were easy to access and stunning. Staff and owner of retreat center and massage therapist were wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. Best retreat I have ever experienced. I cannot wait to travel with Andrea again!

A nurturing and inspiring time with Andrea at the Christine Center. Simple, thoughtful, and clean accommodations in a peaceful setting with many wildlife sightings. Retreat content was relevant and meaningful on many levels. Food fresh, creative, and delicious. Many little touches by both Christine Center and Andrea made it an extra-special experience. And I also trust others attracted to come will make for a powerful pop up sangha and that was again the case.

While I was looking forward to the retreat, I underestimated just how much I could get out of two days with Andrea up at the Christine Center! This was an extremely well run and beneficial retreat. I can't wait to go back!

My time at the Christine Center for Andrea's retreat was just wonderful. I came away not just feeling refreshed and centered, but with actual tools to move forward with...and so much to think about! Andrea embodies all of the things she talks about, you can see it...feel it. Her knowledge of Ayurveda, the body, nature, and how it all ties into each other, is incredible. Anyone who has the opportunity to experience learning from Andrea should make it a priority to do so!
