About this trip

Take time for yourself. Slow down. Find rest. Detox from stress. Practice tools for self-care and build self-awareness.

AWAKEN THE INNER WISDOM of your whole being by connecting with the many parts of your selves: the physical, mental, emotional, and energy body. When we practice awareness and a healthy relationship with ourselves, it extends out into our relationships, job, lifestyle, and how we engage with the world.

YOGA can be for EVERY BODY and experienced in a non-competitive environment where the vibe is warm, gentle, supportive, and fun. Our Hatha yoga classes are suited for all levels with the goal being self-care, not advanced poses. In addition to yoga, you will experience a variety of unique wellness modalities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'm a little nervous about joining this retreat. I'm not sure if I will fit in. How do I know if this retreat is right for me?
A:  This is not yoga or meditation boot camp! Yoga is not about showing off your body or contorting yourself into poses that go past your limits. It's about building the relationship to yourself and noticing what's happening on the inside-- your physical, mental, emotional, and energetic sensations.

Q: Do I need to join all the sessions?
A: Absolutely not. Everything is optional! To get the most out of the retreat program, I would recommend trying to go to as many sessions as you are up for. Remember your intention for the retreat.

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in opens at 2 pm, with the welcome circle beginning at 5:00 pm. Please ensure that your flight to Chiang Mai arrives by 3:00 pm to be able to join the first session. Check-out will be 12 pm, and the retreat will end at 11:30 am.

Q: I've never had more than two consecutive vegetarian meals before. Am I going to be okay?
A: You'll be more than okay! You'll be surprised and delighted by the flavorful and creative vegetarian meals.

Q: How do I get to Mala Dhara?
A: Located 45 minutes from the old city of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Mala Dhara Eco Resort is set among the rice fields in a quaint village. If you will be flying, there are several cheap flights offered from the domestic airport in Bangkok (DMK) through Air Asia and Nok Air to Chiang Mai (CNX). Sometimes, Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways also have good deals, and they fly from the international airport in Bangkok (BKK) to Chiang Mai (CNX). Many international airlines fly to Chiang Mai, ie. Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Incheon/Seoul (ICN), etc. A scheduled transfer departing at 1:30 pm from Chiang Mai city center directly to Mala Dhara is included in your retreat rate.

Q: What's the weather like?
A: Generally, the early mornings and late evening will be pleasantly cool in November. Long pants and a long sleeved top of light material will be enough. From late morning until sunset, the temperature will be warm and/or hot.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Mala Dhara (and Thailand in general) has a casual atmosphere. Clothes for yoga/meditation, day wear, and swim wear is enough. Some people like to dress up for dinner, but this is not required. Wear footwear that is easy to slip on and off since you'll be taking off your shoes before entering the yoga/meditation rooms. A hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellant, water bottle, a journal, sarong, and a flashlight are all handy.

Q: How much money should I bring?
A:
You can add any extra purchases onto your bill and pay by credit card upon check-out. This includes: massage treatments, bicycle/motorbike rental, extra orders from the restaurant, and gratuity. Alternatively, you can also pay in cash (Thai baht). There are no currency exchange services at Mala Dhara. You can exchange money at the Chiang Mai airport or in town.

Cancellation policy:
1. If a reservation is cancelled 35 days or less of the arrival date, no refunds will be issued.
2. If a reservation is cancelled more than 35 days from the arrival date, $300 of the total retreat rate will be charged to you. (This means that your $300 deposit made at the time of your booking is non-refundable.)

Reviews

The retreat exceeded my expectations in every way. The accommodations were floating on the lake, the beds were comfy, the lake was so clean and refreshing and the food was so deliscious I went back for seconds plenty of times. I cannot say enough good things about Tammy. She is an amazing facilitator in how she can teach new intricate skills to so many people at once and does it with humour and keeps you engaged the whole time. I love that she has a sharing circle after the class to discuss and go deeper into what we learnt or felt. I have never been so vulnerable and felt so safe at the same time. Saffia and Bard the co facilitators were both great value and my husband and I did one on one trike and himikayan bowls with them. This retreat was my best experience in Asia and one of the best experiences of my life.

This was possibly the best New Years I’ve ever had! Tammy and Fernando are the most wonderful, caring, and considerate facilitators you could possibly ask for. This retreat was a totally transformative experience and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the time and space to reconnect with themselves in a beautiful and supportive setting. My week on this retreat was an absolute dream and if you’re on the fence about booking it - just do it! Trust me. Thank you Tammy and Fernando!! Xo
This week was worth a lot more than we paid! We were very fortunate to spend a week in the company of a wonderful group, connecting and learning from both Tammy and Fernando. They scheduled a week of wellbeing and growth that I hope I have the opportunity to repeat in the near future.
Tammy was an excellent yoga teacher / host! Her attention to detail and warm, welcoming attitude made participants of all levels feel comfortable and at ease. The hotel accommodations were lovely and the ocean views from the yoga palapas were an excellent backdrop for our yoga and meditation sessions. The hotel staff was accommodating to all dietary requests (gluten free, vegan, dairy free, you name it) and all meals were prepared for us and were super healthy / delicious. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere to deepen your practice, I highly recommend Tammy and her co-facilitator Fernando. This was the 2nd time I've participated in one of Tammy's retreats. She exceeded all of my expectations, per usual!
I always thought I’d be not much of a spiritual person. That was until I met Tammy and Ciara for my 3day-retreat at Om Waters. They created a truly beautiful, safe and inspiring environment for a group of total strangers to feel welcomed and at home in. The retreat gave me the chance to reset some buttons and overthink some patterns of my life. Tammy and Ciara figuratively opened up a variety of doors. And what I loved about it: They didn’t force anybody to enter. Nobody was pushed to see what lies behind them. Instead, our two facilitators welcomed everybody to explore the worlds behind those doors at their very own pace and energy. So, every single moment at Om Waters I felt safe and sound and just in the right place, with just the right loving and welcoming people surrounding me. I truly miss those calm, enriching days at Om Waters. I truly do.
