7-Day Sacred Plants Retreat

July 7-13, 2025 in Malacatos, Ecuador

Join us for a transformation plant medicine retreat working with grandmother Ayahuasca and San Pedro.

During this sacred retreat, you’ll work with powerful plant medicines in guided ceremonies designed to bring clarity, healing, and personal transformation. Our experienced facilitators will guide you through profound ceremonies and healing practices that honor the natural rhythms of the earth, helping you to shed old patterns and embrace your fullest potential.

Throughout the retreat, you’ll also engage in grounding practices like meditation, yoga, nature hikes, and informative healing workshops to deepen your healing and restore balance to your mind, body, and spirit. These practices, combined with plant medicine, will help you clear emotional blockages, align with your higher self, and ignite your personal power.

About Us:

Katie:

Katie is the facilitator for Allpa Mama Retreats. She is from Chicago, USA, and has lived in Ecuador for 6 years. She has been holding ceremonies with San Pedro since 2024, having held space in hundreds of ceremonies at this point, previously assisting and training for 5 years. She has assisted in hundreds of Ayahuasca and other plant medicine ceremonies as well during this time. She gives limpias (energetic cleansings), and other cleansing rituals. She is a student of Mama Mercedes and is also a sundancer, having attended several Sundances in Wisconsin with an Ojibwe elder. She is honored to be able to work with these sacred plants, and believes they are here to help us heal, grow, remember the ancient ways of living and connect us with Spirit.

Taita German Nantipia:

Taita German is an indigenous Shuar shaman from the jungle of Gualaquiza, Ecuador. He was born into a family of shamans and learned from his cousins and uncle how to work with the sacred medicine of Ayahuasca. He is a great, strong healer, and has travelled the world sharing his medicine. He has been holding ceremonies for over 30 years. We are lucky to have him for this retreat.

Why Stay with Us?

Why stay with us?

Unlike many other retreats, we limit our number of guests to just 6 people per retreat. This gives each person the individualized attention we truly need to recieve the best healing and long-term benefits. We also hold private retreats for more in-depth healing work.

We are a very safe space for women - We have many solo females stay with us, and as Katie is always present you can feel very safe here.

The spirits truly want us to do this work, there is no doubt. We put all our heart and soul into this work with the aim to help create a better world.

The Location

Allpa Mama Healing is based in the Southern Andes mountains in Malacatos, Ecuador, what was referred to as the "sacred valley" for its powerful healing energies.

Immerse yourself in nature in our retreat space. It is magical during ceremonies to hear the sounds of all the nature around, under the beautiful milky way.

The accommodation has everything you need to be comfortable, feel at peace, and retreat inwards during your stay.

The temperature is perfect year-round: in the 70s every day!

Rooms are comfortable, with nice beds, wi-fi, and hot water

Pool, jacuzzi and steam room on site

FAQs

How do we get to you?

You can fly to Quito airport and take another domestic flight to Loja, which is about $80 (with Aeroregional). From there we can arrange a taxi to us (1.5 hr).

Or, you can fly to Guayaquil, and take a bus to us (8 hours). Or, from Quito it is possible to arrive here by bus (12 hours). I recommend the overnight bus, and this is typically what we do when we travel to Quito.

Transportation cost is not included but we can arrange taxis for you to get to us.

How are plant medicines beneficial?

Plant medicines can help with...

  • Healing past traumas and emotional wounds
  • Gaining clarity and direction in life
  • Overcoming mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD
  • Healing physical health issues by addressing root causes and restoring balance
  • Connecting with your intuition and spiritual guidance
  • Releasing limiting beliefs and old patterns that no longer serve you
  • Enhancing personal growth and self-awareness
  • Restoring balance to mind, body, and spirit for overall well-being

What should I bring?

We are going to be up in the Andes mountains where there is sunshine and occasionally rain. It gets a little chilly at night, so bring pants, a sweater, and a jacket. During the day, a t-shirt is usually good to wear and pants. Bring hiking boots for our walks and swim suit in case we jump in a waterfall or hot spring.

It can be helpful to have a small flashlight or headlamp for the ceremonies at night.

In Ecuador people mainly just accept cash; rarely you will use a card, however bring a debit or credit card to take out money from ATMs. Small change is good to have on hand.

Is Ecuador safe?

Ecuador has always been a beautiful, peaceful and safe country. The violence between drug gangs and police you heard about in the media (around March 2024) was mainly focused on the coastal borders with Colombia and Peru, and the city of Guayaquil.

Ecuador’s new president has empowered the military to assist the police in securing the countries ports, prisons and borders. This has greatly decreased the amount of violent crime in the country.

In south/central Ecuador where we are located, we are far removed from violent crime. Quito and Cuenca have safe, modern airports.

I, Katie, have traveled throughout Ecuador for many years now as a solo female traveler, riding the public transport, and have never had issues with anyone. I have always been met with kind people willing to give me a hand as needed.
