Join me in Minnesota for a 4 day/3 night backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail to see stunning fall colors and hike this epic route.

I first hiked this section of the trail in 2020 and fell in love with the views and the experience of backpacking as a whole.

And in 2021, I led my first Superior Hiking Trail group trip. Check out the highlights here. Since then, I've led multiple sold out backpacking trips along the Superior Hiking Trail.

This is your chance to have one-on-one guidance from me personally & learn how to backpack! And if you're an experienced backpacker? No worries, this trip is also for you. The trail + the fall colors are truly spectacular.

And this year, we've included the scenic gondola ride in Lutsen in the trip price! It's the perfect end to a fantastic weekend :)

Welcome to the beautiful North Shore of Minnesota!

We will check into the Mountain Inn where we will have our welcome dinner & information meeting!

Bring your packed backpack because we'll be going over everything to double check you have the necessary gear before setting out on the trail.

Oberg Mountain Loop
In the morning, there is grab and go breakfast available in the hotel lobby for purchase.

We will leave the hotel around 8:30am to drive to Oberg Mountain Trailhead so we can be on the trail a little before 9am.

2.6 miles on the Oberg Loop for spectacular fall views then 6.4 miles north towards Mystery Mountain where we will set up camp for the night!

I’ll be assisting with photos and videos as we go. Enjoy a campfire in the evening with your new friends!

Lake Agnes
Prepare for a full day of hiking along the beautiful trail.

I’ll assist with filtering water, bear hangs and everything you need for a successful first backpacking trip!

Total distance today will be 6 miles. You are going to love the views of the Poplar River!!

Enjoy a second night at camp with the group.

White Sky Rock
We will set off from camp and end at Caribou Trail including the beautiful White Sky Rock Spur Trail.

This day has some of the best views!

Our shuttle will pick us up and return us to our cars at Oberg Mountain Trailhead around 1pm. Your shuttle is included in the price of the trip.

From there, we'll go have a celebratory farewell lunch at the top of Lutsen mountain for great fall views. The cost of the scenic gondola is included in the price of your trip.

Say goodbye to your fellow hikers until next time! Your photos will be uploaded into a Google Drive and shared with you after the trip.

I had the best time. This trip is always planned at the peak time to see fall colors. It was BEAUTIFUL. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The hiking was kind of tough the first day, but it was really rewarding. Emily makes it so easy for first time backpackers. I love this trip so much this was my second time doing it.

I would have been lost without Emily and our guide. We saw so many different parts of Japan and it was so nice not having to worry about navigating the trains. Emily is the sweetest person alive. The food was delicious, the activities were fun, and the shopping was great. I would 100% recommend.

It was the most perfect weekend for the fall colors and the weather was absolutely incredible. It really is the best time of the year here in MN! This intro to backpacking is so well organized and thought out by Emily, and she helps you along every step of the way. Quite literally. This backpacking trip tested me in more ways than one, and when I wanted to give up the incredible duo that is Emily and Tessa pulled me through until the very end. The views made all the hard work worth it, and our group really banded together to help each other out. If you’re interested in backpacking or just want to experience MN in all its fall glory, this trip is for you!

I traveled to Tanzania with her in 2023. 8 months later I'm still dreaming of that trip. It has taken me that long to wrap my head around how amazing her trip was. Emily made every detail perfect. She is patient, friendly, easy going and adventurous. I will definitely be traveling with her again. Although we had a large group she made me feel special and gave individual attention and tips. Don't have anyone to go with you... go along. You won't wanna miss it.
