Over the years we've had countless offers from fancy places who wanted to host our community for a retreat, but nothing ever felt right. Sure, they were gorgeous, but we didn't believe in charging anyone $5-$6k for a yoga retreat which is what we would have had to charge at some of these places! That didn't even include meals or any activities/excursions, and not to mention flights! We didn't think that was fair or even remotely accessible to so many of our yogis. So we waited. And waited. And waited.
And then one year for my birthday, Adrien took me to a beautiful little domaine tucked away in the southern Alps of France and just 40 minutes from our home in Nice. It was one of the most serene places I've ever been. The scenery transported me out of the hustle and bustle of my regular life, and the food fed my soul on a whole different level ;) There's even two gentle old dogs that occasionally find you just to get their ears pet and keep you company while you read. It was divine, and 5 minutes after arriving, we knew this would be the perfect place for our first retreat.
So, how is this retreat going to feel? What can you expect?
Picture this: your favorite, most memorable, most connected moments have probably happened when you were sitting around someone's coffee table with people you relate with the most, right? You know those nights; legs folded underneath you with a glass of wine or tea in your hand, maybe even wearing a pair of fuzzy socks or slippers. You effortlessly flow between the kind of deep conversation that makes you feel truly connected, truly understood, and the kind of laughter that makes your abs hurt. These are the moments we live for, but they're so few and far between as we get further into adulthood. To me, this is awful. As an introvert but super sensitive human, I need this time with people I like. And I don't get nearly enough of it. I think a lot of us feel this way.
I'm always in awe and in love with how authentic and sincere this community is, and we're bringing that connectedness to life on this retreat. That's why the entire theme and our inaugural retreat name is simply that: CONNECTION. There will be yoga (lots of it). There will be meditation (enough of it, haha!!) There will be deep fireside conversations about life, sharing awkward moments and yoga fails, and yes, plenty of food, wine, laughter, exploration, chocolate, relaxation, time for connection, and also time for self-reflection.
Everything you know and love about Bad Yogi is culminating here. IN PERSON! FINALLY! Okay, so you wanna join! Let's get down to the nitty gritty...
