Baking with King Arthur

Head north into the green mountains of Vermont. Our stop of the day is at King Arthur Flour Company. King Arthur Flour was founded in 1790 in Boston, MA, and is America’s oldest flour company. In 1984 (after 194 years in Boston), the company moved to Norwich, VT, where it is headquartered today and has become 100% employee-owned.

Today we will have a hands on baking class. The Baking School welcomes all bakers, no matter your skill level or baking interest. The expert instructors will teach you to master any baking technique with ease.  After the class spend some time to shop and grab a bite to eat in the café. The café offers breads, pastries, cakes, pizzas, soups, sandwiches and much more!

Terrible the trip was cancelled twice. However, glad we were not in Ashville due to the place being GONE because of the hurricane.

We had a great time. Although it was exhausting, we met wonderful people and dined on good meals. The Vatican and coliseum were too much a load in one day, but were a fabulous experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback Bill! We appreciate hearing about your experience in Rome and is something we can look at altering for future trips. Meeting new people is a big part of a group tour and we are thrilled you made some new friends. We look forward to hosting you again on another adventure. Many thanks!

We had a good time overall, but have a few issues that would prevent us from taking another TofD trip. We asked, early on, for accommodations in our hotel rooms- namely, walk in shower, grab bars and shower seat. There was not one hotel that arranged for all of those and some that gave none. It made for an exhausting trip trying to shower and dress in an unsafe environment. We enjoyed the itinerary and the group but this one situation truly put an overall damper on our trip. Thank you for sharing your feedback Donna. You clearly outlined that you required a walk-on shower, etc. We understand the importance of such a request. Hotels only have a limited amount of rooms that are ADA compliant and we cannot guarantee that each and every hotel will have enough rooms to accommodate each request. We are glad you enjoyed the trip and your fellow travelers. We hope that we have the opportunity to see you again on a future trip.

Our overall experience was positive. Brian, local tour guide for Nova Scotia, was great: full of historic and current information of the Province. Nice touch that he included personal experiences of the province, We did find the tour schedule jammed packed and we would have preferred more free time. An example of when/where this could have happened was on Prince Edward Island, day 6 of the tour, we spent 2 full hours at a jam/preserve store which was way too long. We hoped local tour guide, Larry, would have been able to intervene. He did not. The sailing ship ride out of Halifax, over two hours, was a poor substitute for the Tatoo performance. This was a party boat with no commentary as to what we were seeing. Those two hours of free time would have been appreciated. Our tours of Distinction guide, Kim, did the best she could as this was her own intrduction to this Nova Scotia/PEI tour. Thankss you. Julie Thomas and Laura Eakin (companion travelers)
