Baking with King Arthur

Head north into the green mountains of Vermont. Our stop of the day is at King Arthur Flour Company. King Arthur Flour was founded in 1790 in Boston, MA, and is America’s oldest flour company. In 1984 (after 194 years in Boston), the company moved to Norwich, VT, where it is headquartered today and has become 100% employee-owned.

Today we will have a hands on baking class. The Baking School welcomes all bakers, no matter your skill level or baking interest. The expert instructors will teach you to master any baking technique with ease.  After the class spend some time to shop and grab a bite to eat in the café. The café offers breads, pastries, cakes, pizzas, soups, sandwiches and much more!

Janet, our tour director was marvelous. She had a tremendous personality, knowledgeable, and unflappably. Outstanding was Mackinaw Island, the Ford Motor plant and Niagara Falls. She was nicely paired with Frankie our driver. Well matched and a great team. Can’t say enough good things about these people and the trip. The first and last days of the trip were both well over 10 hours due to the stop in Buffalo.

Thank you for your review Carol. We are thrilled you had a great trip and Janet and Frankie meshed well together. We are reviewing the trip and will be making adjustments about the starting location. We understand that is a long drive from Connecticut.

We needed more sights to see and less travel time. Some of the buffet meals were not acceptable.
By Lawrence S for Highlights of Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island on Jul 14, 2024
Thanks for your feedback Lawrence. The trip is packed with experiences each and every day and your local guide even stopped for a lobster trap demonstration that was not included. The itinerary clearly laid out the day-to-day. There is a lot of ground to cover on this particular trip.

Had a great time. Met some wonderful people. Loved the various places we visited. It was great having Tyler as our Cruise Concierge. Would definitely consider going on another Tours of Distinction trip. There were a couple of things were not aware of until we received the trip documentation. (Neither of these things affected the enjoyment of the trip,) Did not realize that there was bus transportation to/from the airport or that the trip itinerary had been reversed. Again had a great time and will recommend Tours of Distinction.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable trip to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Loretta was an excellent Tour Director. She kept us informed throughout (stops, hotels, meals, things to do, etc.). I would travel with Tours of Distinction again.

Lawn seating at Tanglewood is acceptable only if you don’t mind not being able to see the performer or even the projection on the screen in some cases. Don’t leave your lawn chair unattended or it will get stolen as ours was. Luckily the audio is very good. Bring your own food because what is sold there is outrageously expensive. The surroundings are beautiful and we met some very nice people. Our tour director was useless, didn’t guide us there, just handed us a map and stayed on the bus. The tour is overpriced. We met another couple from CT who came on a bus from another tour company and they paid $34 less. Overall the experience was enjoyable but disappointing.
By JO-ANN H for Tanglewood featuring James Taylor on Jul 06, 2024
Thank you for your feedback Jo-Ann. Your Tour Director was in attendance. We have some very nice pictures she took throughout the performance. As for any other groups going for less, they would not have had a Tour Director and most likely did not have any gratuities included. We are sorry to hear about your lawn chair and we always encourage our travelers to bring their own food.
