The theme of this trip is enjoying Bali without kids. Yes, I know I go on and on about coming to Bali as a family, but honestly, some things are better experienced without them. Like an interior design tour. Or having a relaxing balinese massage. Or even an uninterrupted dinner with adult conversation! I’ve carefully curated this itinerary to contain the perfect blend of culture, relaxation and adventure.
Arrival at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport by 3pm, transfer to Seminyak area (Approx 1 hour), welcome swim and dinner. We’ll be staying at an amazing Balinese villa near the beach with lush gardens and refreshing pool.
We’ll travel towards the interior of the island, to experience the “real” Bali. This will be full immersion into Balinese life and culture! We will visit a Balinese family compound, learning about their culture, architecture and spirituality. We will learn the pillars of Balinese cooking with a special focus on learning about the medical properties of spices and roots. We will also do "melukat", a sacred water purification ceremony.
We’ll join some of Bali’s most talented designers on a daylong tour of Bali’s most beautiful homes and incredible artisans. Sunset and dinner on the beach.
After a busy couple of days, we'll have a relaxing day at one of Bali's most beautiful spas. Dip in and out of pools, try out the infared sauna and cold plunge and snooze next to the sounds of a rolling river. You'll also have the option to book spa appointments here like a full body massage, relaxing floral bath or rejuvenating facial.
In the afternoon we'll continue on to our next accommodation, an award winning luxury bamboo villa nestled in the jungle.
The morning will be spent exploring amazing rice fields and landscapes that are a UNESCO world heritage site. We’ll have morning coffee at the most scenic coffee shop in all of Bali and have a delicious local lunch. We’ll also visit some less visited waterfalls.
In the afternoon we'll have the option to learn more about bamboo architecture through an informative tour.
Travel over to the neighboring island of Nusa Lembongan, a 30 minute boat ride from Bali. We’ll stay in a prime location where we can swim, lounge and explore! My favorite spa in all of Bali is on Lembongan, so we’ll be sure to get massages this afternoon while we listen to the waves crash below.
Early morning snorkel excursion to swim with the mantas, search for sea turtles and if we’re lucky, spot some dolphins! The afternoon can be spent at the spa, taking a surf lesson, stand up paddle boarding or lounging on the pontoon just watching the surfers. Sunset farewell dinner together.
After breakfast we’ll head back to Bali by boat where you can fly out any time after 4 pm.
