About this trip

Join Shannon Paige and Sarah TV Russell for a transformational trip of a lifetime on our annual retreat to one of the most magnificent places on this earth.

Enjoy 13 days in the small island's cultural capital, Ubud, eating delicious food, enjoying beautiful traditional art, meeting healers, and soaking up the traditions and heritage of this spiritual land.

The first eight days are spent practicing yoga in the mornings and evenings and exploring all the beauty this island has to offer. There are daily excursions to temples, coffee farms, rice paddies, bone carving village, batik factory, beaches and more. You also have options to be a little more adventurous with mountain bike rides through the jungle down the island's volcano and surfing the Indian ocean with local surf guides we know and trust. We will have one evening in which we will attend a traditional Kecak dance, a spiritual fire ceremony for you to be in awe and wonder of this incredible place, steeped in beautiful tradition. It's not go go go all the time, because you will also have the option of slowing things down to relax poolside and receive a healing massage next to the Ubud river where all your worries just melt away.

Each day consists of meditation, journal contemplations, vinyasa yoga, restorative yoga and home-cooked, traditional meals twice daily. Lunches are always up to you so you can get out and enjoy the local restaurants as you shop for the perfect keepsakes and gifts for friends back home.

The final five days you have the option of a more structured and in-depth study into the God & Goddess Chrinicles. This is a rare chance to immerse yourself in training and deepen your yoga practice. And such a fitting place to experience this module as you reside in a deeply spiritual heart of Bali's Hindu culture. This module qualifies for continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance and is eligible as a 500 hour elective course through Shannon Paige Yoga.

The nature of myth and story. Applying the nature of the unseen into the caliber and connection of richer classes. Explore the skill-set of sourcing inspiration, making it your own, applying it to well connected and sound sequencing. Building on the skill-sets of the previous weekends, we will leverage social connection and sound principles of teaching into the secreted, “rahasya” technique of being just unclear enough to be universally compelling. Learn to amplify your verbal efficacy, theme integration, cuing, dharma talks, and sign offs.

Our guiding texts for this module will be: KA – Stories of the Mind and Gods of India, Roberto Calasso

Our retreat center is locally run and has all the Western amenities you could wish for including AC, wifi, flushing toilets, and daily traditional Balinese breakfast. :-)

Our island guide, Gusti, is a local Balinese who has been working with us each year. His intimate knowledge and love of the island and rituals make this an even richer experience than any other. He shares his own family's sacred sites with us which is a true honor.

This retreat is facilitated by the incredible duo Shannon Paige and Sarah TV Russell.
