Itinerary

Yasuni
waorani Expedition

Day 1: This will be an expedition to the heart of Yasuní National Park to explore the magnificent biodiversity of this territory alongside the Waorani tribe.

At 09:00 a.m., we will depart in private land transportation via the Auca route, on a journey of approximately three hours until we reach the impressive bridge over the Shiripuno River. Here, our unique journey begins. We will register at the Ministry of Environment's guardhouse (we must present our passport) and have a briefing about our expedition. During an exciting four-hour canoe ride on crystal-clear waters, we will witness the majestic flight of toucans, parrots, and many other fascinating species. Nature will surprise us at every moment! In the afternoon, we will arrive at Minta Lodge camp, take an acclimatization hike, and then have dinner before resting early.

Day 2: Wake up early at 5:00 a.m. to enjoy a delicious breakfast and continue our journey along the Shiripuno River for 6 hours to reach the Bameno community. We will be welcomed by the Waorani tribe and share our introduction to this preserved territory.

Day 3: We have breakfast at 7 a.m. and then go for a jungle walk with the Waorani tribe, sharing their way of life and hopefully encountering incredible creatures like the impressive peccary (wild pig), deer, monkeys, colorful parrots, and toucans, among others. In this part of Yasuni, the Waorani culture relies on hunting, fishing, and fruit gathering.

Day 4: After breakfast, we will embark on another canoe adventure to observe caimans fishing and learn about the preparation of curare (poison used in hunting). This will be a great day to search for anacondas and, with luck, jaguars as we try our luck at fishing in the Shiripuno River and Aguas Negras Lagoon. It will be a day of deep jungle hiking, and we'll have our lunch in the middle of the forest. Get ready for an epic and unforgettable day of jungle adventure. Finally, we will return to camp to rest and recharge.

Day 5: Wake up refreshed and enjoy a delicious breakfast at 6:30 a.m. Today, we have an exciting hike to an impressive viewpoint, where we will witness breathtaking panoramic views. Along the way, we will encounter various animal species and marvel at the lush jungle flora. After this unforgettable experience, we will return to camp for a satisfying lunch. Later, we will venture upstream in a canoe, with the thrilling possibility of encountering an anaconda or other fascinating animals. As night falls, we will return to camp for a delicious dinner and rest under the starry sky.

Day 6: At 5 a.m., we return to our journey to Minta Lodge camp. In the evening, surrounded by the serenity and sounds of nature, we will have a nighttime walk and then rest.

Day 7: Today is our last day on this wonderful expedition! After an early breakfast at 7:30 a.m., we will pack our belongings for the return journey. Finally, we will arrive at the Shiripuno Bridge, where we will bid farewell to this incredible territory. At 4:00 p.m., we will board our land transportation back to Coca. I hope this adventure in Waorani territory meets your expectations!
