Quilting is in the fabric of Marquette County, Wisconsin. This proud quilting heritage and the county’s rich agricultural history helped birth the Barn Quilts and Hidden History Murals project. With the help of two local and knowledgeable step-on guides we will crisscross Marquette counties highways and byways to enjoy these rural works of art. The barn quilt blocks are hung on barns and other buildings while the history murals often cover the whole side of buildings. With over 75 of these works of art, our day will be filled with abundant examples of these beautiful additions to the landscape. The back-stories and history provided by our local guides will certainly enhance the appreciation for each piece. A delicious lunch at a local restaurant is included. Minimal walking.
