Your flight arrives in Rome mid-morning. After gathering our luggage, a comfortable coach bus will meet the group and we will head immediately north to the town of Orvieto.  We will celebrate Holy Mass at the Cathedral and if available, view and venerate the "blood stained" corporal from the Eucharistic Miracle.  After a light lunch, we head just a bit further north to Assisi where we will check into our hotel, refresh and do some easy sightseeing in this beautiful city.  On our walk back to the hotel we will stop and enjoy a traditional Italian meal. Lunch on your own. (D) 

After breakfast and checkout, you will celebrate Holy Mass, tour parts of Assisi and grab a quick lunch before taking the bus north to Florence.  Only a short drive away, when arriving in Florence the group will have time for a panoramic bus tour of the city before heading to our hotel for check-in.  You will have free time for self-touring before we enjoy a group dinner at our hotel. Following breakfast, the group with enjoy a full day of touring this beautiful city.  We will celebrate Holy Mass in the Church of the Holy Cross, visit Santa Maria del Fiore, enjoy touring the L'Accademia's magnificent art (including Michelangelo's David) and strolling Republic Square.  For those interested, you might also choose to visit Uffizi gallery.  Dinner is on your own.

Following breakfast at the hotel we make our way to Siena; the birthplace of St. Catherine “Doctor of the Church”, and the Apostle of Italy, St. Bernardine. We will have Holy Mass in the Basilica of St. Catherine (which is also known as the Basilica of St. Domenico). After, visiting the Shrine of St. Catherine, our group will enjoy a walking tour through the Siena including a visit to its Cathedral (Duomo di Siena). The formal touring concludes at one of Italy’s finest squares, the Piazza Del Campo, where you will enjoy free time to have lunch, and look for gifts and souvenirs. Late afternoon you will return to Florence for dinner on your own. 

Following breakfast, we checkout of the hotel and begin our drive to Rome.  We will stop along the way for Holy Mass (the location is yet to be determined) and lunch.  The plan is to arrive in Rome late afternoon to allow time for check-in at our hotel, time to refresh and possibly some late afternoon/early evening exploring.  Dinner is on your own. (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, we will walk to St Peter’s Basilica to give this structure its highest purpose – praise and worship of God. The group will attend the concelebrated, multilingual, 10:30am Mass at the Altar of the Chair. Following Holy Mass our group will gather back in St Peter’s Square where we will join thousands of others and Pope Francis for the Angelus at noon. At this point everyone is free to explore the city and enjoy the sites visited in past trips.  For those new to Rome, there will be informal touring coordinated.  Dinner is on your own. (B) 

The day starts with breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we take a short bus ride to St. Lawrence Outside the Walls and visit the first of our final six Pilgrimage Churches. We then journey to Santa Croce en Gerusaleme, which houses relics of the cross of Christ followed by a very short walk to St. John Lateran for Holy Mass and tour of the third major Basilica in Rome. We board the bus and head to the Basilica of St Sebastian for a visit and lunch.  The day closes with a visit of the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls - the final Pilgrim Church.  After this visit our bus will return to the hotel where you will have the remainder of the day free for private resting, sightseeing and shopping. After final packing and breakfast, we head to the airport for our return flight to Chicago.
