This photography workshop is every landscape and nature photographer's dream! The stunning Bavarian Alps are especially alluring in the Winter months and offer an array of fabulous photo opportunities. During this 7 day, 6 night tour we will photograph amazing scenery including rugged, snow capped mountain ranges, stunning glaciers, crystal clear blue lakes, charming alpine villages, and picturesque churches and farmhouses.

Activities and Itinerary

Our Bavarian Alps workshop will start in Munich where we will meet at the Hampton by Hilton Munich Airport South and spend our first night there. After everyone has arrived, we will have an informal meet and greet and get to know each other.

After breakfast the following morning, we will start our journey to Berchtesgaden, a picturesque town in the Bavarian Alps close to the Austrian border. This will be our home base for the next three nights. Among cascading waterfalls, impressive gorges, and spectacular mountaineering villages, we will photograph Lake Königssee, deeply nestled between towering cliffs with emerald green water located at the foot of the imposing Watzmann - this lake is located in the heart of the Berchtesgaden National Park and is one of the most stunning places to visit in Germany. Another highlight will be the area of Hintersee and Ramsau; both regions are among the most scenic in the Bavarian Alps. Artists and novelists discovered both sites in the 1800s and, later, film-makers chose this area as an idyllic setting for alpine majesty and pastoral romance.

Our photographic journey will continue to the heart of Bavaria to Füssen, where we will stay the next two nights. During our stay we will explore one of Germany's natural monuments, the Partnach Gorge where 2,300 feet of breath taking waterfalls and caves provide a rare look into Germany's geological past. We will photograph the fairy tale Schloss Neuschwanstein, a monument to medieval culture and kingship commenced by the Bavarian King Ludwig II in 1869. Eibsee and Hopfensee have been called two of the most beautiful lakes in all of Germany, and it's easy to see why. The turquoise waters look like a mirror, gorgeously reflecting the surrounding mountains off their crystalline surface - we will capture their beauty during the golden hours of the day. Finally, on February 10th, we will return to the Munich airport where we will say goodbye until next time!
