DESCRIPTION

ScubaCaribe is a PADI dive center that has been providing a complete range of diving and snorkeling all over the world since 1991.

The ScubaCaribe Maldives center can be found at Hotel Riu Atoll. It offers diving and snorkeling in the Maldives - a tropical island nation, consisting of 1,190 islands grouped in 26 ring-shaped atolls. 

The dive center is blessed with an amazing underwater world, an abundance of marine life, crystal clear warm waters and plenty of sunshine, with temperatures hovering around 30°C throughout the year with occasional monsoon rains mainly occurring between June and August.

The wide channels of Dhaalu Atoll are suitable for all kind of dive levels, from beginner to pro. Advanced divers can explore the deeper caves. Expect drop-offs, stunning anemone corals, moray eels, mobula rays and colorful gobies.

Factor in flight times and time change. You might need to fly 2 days before check-in on 14 Feb! Make sure you land on 14 Feb with time to get to the resort.

Arrival

• From Velana International Airport, it will take you one hour to reach the resort via a domestic flight and a short boat ride (advance notice required). 
• Check in time is 4 pm. 

Departure

• Check out time is 11 noon. 
• Following check out, you can return to the airport via boat and domestic flight (advance notice required). 

Whale sharks are the largest fish in the sea, yet are known as gentle giants with little known about their activities or population size. Research and monitoring programs are helping fill these knowledge gaps. Learn about whale shark biology, behavior and distribution. During two scuba dives or snorkeling excursions, practice passively observing these large creatures.

Dhaalu Atoll’s scuba is perfect for beginners due to its wider channels and shallower drop-offs. But advanced divers can still explore greater depths and enjoy the thrill of drift diving in stronger currents.

On the inside of the lagoon, on Lohi Island, is a cave dive that is suitable for both beginners and advanced divers. You’ll see sea fans on the edges of the overhangs, and red, yellow and pink sponges. If it’s dark enough, flower corals’ tentacles extend to feed. Frogfish and mobula mantas may also be seen.

On an inner reef to the north-west, you'll find large colonies of anemone coral covering one if its sides. On the other side, you’ll find lots of moray eels. On a large overhang, you’ll see spiky black coral and longnose hawkfish.

• Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date you plan to return home from your trip
• It is your responsibility to review and meet the vaccination requirements and visa/immigration requirements for the countries you're visiting
• Dive accident insurance (to include medical evacuation) is mandatory for everyone who dives: it's your responsibility to have adequate cover in place and to bring your certificate as proof
• Your proof of certification and logbook will be checked during check-in at the dive center to clarify level and experience: it is your responsibility to ensure you bring these with you and your diving could be at risk if you do not bring these
• Please remember it is your responsibility to ensure you are fit to dive and meet the medical standards outlined by PADI
• Dive times can change due to local weather conditions and it is your responsibility to check in with your dive center after you arrive to confirm the timing of your dives: late check-in could lead to missed dives
• Your package price does not include surcharges for national parks, boat dives, night dives, special trip supplements or dive gear beyond tanks, weights and weight belt unless indicated otherwise
• Taxes, levies, or surcharges, if applicable, are indicated in the Online Booking System during the checkout process for informational purposes. Supplements, government taxes, marine park fees, fuel surcharges, harbour fees, rental equipment and other upgrades or surcharges are subject to change at any time pre-booking or post-booking. These changes can be driven by local conditions, extreme weather, changes to government policy, operator decisions, oil prices, or other factors. Changes are outside PADI Travel's control and travelers are responsible to pay any increases. A change in these fees or surcharges does not grant travelers the right to cancel a reservation or dispute the surcharges.

• Ensure you bring suitable electrical adaptors for the country or countries you are visiting
• In case of a rescheduled booking or a rebooking to a new dive operator, any payments made for the original booking are non-refundable. Beyond that the cancellation terms apply.
• In the Maldives, seaplanes are commonly used to transport you from Malé International Airport (where your international flight lands) to your resort. Seaplanes are strictly limited to flying during daylight hours and we advise you to arrive in Malé as early as possible to ensure that any potential delays to your international flight do not put your seaplane transfer at risk. If you miss the last seaplane transfer, you will need to book an overnight stay in Malé (at your own cost) and take your seaplane transfer the next day
• The maximum depth for diving in the Maldives is 30m
• Decompression diving is not allowed in the Maldives
• Diving within 24 hours of flying is strictly prohibited
• Diving with gloves is not allowed in the Maldives
• You will need to dive with both a dive computer and a surface marker buoy - both are mandatory and required by law
• First dive will be an orientation dive (if you have not dived in the Maldives in the last three months) due to legal requirements
• Travelers are responsible to be aware of covid travel guidelines, local rules, and procedures for the country they are travelling to and to maintain up to date knowledge of any changes regarding entry requirements or local guidelines.
• Changes with regard to entry requirements to a country are outside of the control of PADI Travel. As such, customers do not have the right to cancel or seek reimbursement if unable to travel due to any updates to a country's entry requirement, airline flights, or other similar situations.
• PADI Travel Packages do not include travel insurance. PADI Travel strongly recommends that travelers purchase travel insurance.
• The Service Provider has the right to operate outside of the standard terms and conditions set out in the booking for rescheduled trips. Standard cancellation policies will not apply to rescheduled trips.
• The Service Provider reserves the right to make any amendments to booked packages prior to trip dates or during trip dates due to, but not limited to, covid related issues or changing restrictions.
