Afternoon Tea Bus - enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea while sitting on the top of a vintage double-decker bus watching the sights go by!

Today we have a *different* private Beatles walking tour with a different guide.

When we finish, we head over to Westminster to snap some 'You know you're in London when..." photos with Big Ben (actually Elizabeth Tower, as Big Ben is the largest bell inside).  

Crossing Westminster Bridge, we take a short cruise on the Thames to see those London icons from a different perspective.

Once we disembark at XXX, we walk down the Southbank to our final destination of the day - the wonderful Southbank Market for dinner amongst Londoners.

This morning we're off to the Beatles' hometown of Liverpool.  Once we check into The Hard Day's Night boutique hotel, we take a short walk down to Albert Docks for some lunch and to visit the Beatles Story Museum.  The remainder of the afternoon is free to visit the museums nearby.  You can choose from the Museum of Liverpool, The Tate Liverpool (art museum), The Maritime Museum (with a fascinating Titanic Exhibit), and the International Slavery Museum is there as well.  Or you may just want to spend all the time at the Beatles Story!

That evening we enjoy a 3 course dinner at our hotel in Blake's Restaurant.

This morning we're picked up at our hotel by our gregarious guide, Joey.  He will be driving us around Liverpool to places like St. Peter's Parish Hall (where John & Paul met), Eleanor Rigby's grave by the church where John was once an altar boy (the mind reels), to Ringo's and George's childhood homes.  We will visit Penny Lane Community Centre (the last time we met Colin Hanton, one of the original Quarrymen!) and sign their colorful Beatles Wall.  That afternoon we visit Strawberry Field Exhibition Centre to see John's "Imagine" piano.

The remaining of the afternoon is free to wander the Mathew Street area (right near our hotel) and the evening is spent grooving the night away at the Cavern Club.

We start the day at the British Music Experience which focuses on iconic music makers such as David Bowie, Queen, The Spice Girls, and so many more.  There are costumes, videos, instruments, and memorabilia all through the years and up to the present day. 

In the afternoon, we visit (and tour) both John's Aunt Mimi's house and Paul's childhood home.  These are now owned by the National Trust and only open to those with tickets.  

That evening, we once again have the opportunity to hear live music att the Cavern Club.

This is a more personal look at the Beatles.  We begin the day at Roan Aspinal's Beatles Museum.  Roan Aspinal is Pete Best's brother and the son of the Beatles' road manager (and later head of Apple Corps), Neal Aspinal.  This is his personal collection of memorabilia and, so, totally different from what we saw at The Beatle's Story.  After lunch at the Cavern Restaurant nearby, we go to the Casbah Coffee Club, where the Beatles *really* got their start - before the Cavern Club accepted rock bands.  This was in the basement of the home of Pete Best's mother and - amazingly - after the Beatles became famous, the rooms were just shut up and left for decades.  That is why they are in such pristine condition today.  The stars the boys painted on the ceiling, John's name carved into the wall, the actual stage where they first appeared.  The tour is led by either Roan himself or his son - both are expert story-tellers and make the whole experience come alive.

This morning is free in Liverpool. You can wander the docks, take a Ferry 'Cross the Mersey, or do some serious souvenir shopping.  Or you can sleep in!

In the afternoon, we return to London, check back into our hotel, and then enjoy a delicious Indian dinner at Dishoom.

A glorious free day in this most wonderful of cities!

We meet for dinner at the Secret Garden in South Kensington where we share a delicious dinner in our private dome.  Afterward, those who want to can join us at the Blackbird Pub for a last pint together.
