Jesus, the Church, and Non-Violence
Jesus consistently urged his disciples to follow his path of non-violence. While it was not a common lifestyle in the ancient world, the early communities of Christian disciples who formed themselves around his teachings, chose to live the life that Jesus himself had lived. This retreat examines the gospel message of non-violence, focusing on the Beatitudes and other words of Jesus, that today can enable us to thoroughly embody his teachings of love and truth.

This retreat offers time for silence, community, and spiritual renewal, helping us embrace Jesus’ vision of the Kingdom of God—where love, justice, and peace prevail.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Fr. Tickerhoof, beloved facilitator of our upcoming Beatitudes Retreat.

Fr. Tickerhoof was deeply committed to the message of peace, compassion, and nonviolence found within the Beatitudes of Jesus. His wisdom, faith, and gentle spirit touched many lives, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

After prayerful reflection, we have decided to move forward with the retreat in honor of Fr. Tickerhoof and the mission he cared about so deeply. We believe continuing this gathering is a meaningful way to carry forward his message and spirit.

Sr. Ruth Ann, Sr. Suzanne, and John Holden will guide the retreat weekend as we come together in prayer, reflection, and hope.

We welcome all who feel called to join us as we honor Fr. Tickerhoof’s life and continue his work toward peace through the teachings of Jesus and the Beatitudes.
