Beneath the Mask is a six-day experiential retreat in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur — a place where the desert meets the Pacific and the distance from your everyday life becomes a powerful part of the process.
Here, we work not just with the mind, but with the body, the ocean, and real-time experience.
We don't analyze your patterns from a distance. We encounter them directly — in the water, in movement, in the space between you and other people.
What you discover here won't be handed to you. It will emerge — through the wave you were afraid to catch, through the silence you didn't expect to feel, through the moment you realized you were holding your breath in more ways than one.
Each day builds on what came before.
Each experience is brought into group and individual therapeutic work guided by Gestalt principles — an experiential approach focused on present-moment awareness, body intelligence, and authentic contact with yourself and others.
The retreat is not designed to teach you about yourself. It's designed to let you feel, see, and meet yourself.
This retreat is offered by application. Once accepted, you'll be able to make your deposit.
You do not need prior experience in therapy, surfing, or freediving to participate in this retreat. The only requirement is a genuine willingness to engage: with the process, with the group, and with yourself.
Surfing and freediving reveal your patterns in action.
Five days of group process, vulnerability, ritual, and integration.
Movement, nature, and community create real contact.
Morning sessions begin in the body.
Yoga, breathwork, or somatic grounding practice.
On most days, ocean-based activity: surfing instruction or freediving practice guided by qualified instructors.
The patterns that emerge in the water become material for the day's therapeutic work.
Afternoon sessions are the therapeutic core of each day.
Individual and group dynamics
Experiential exercises
Somatic work and depth process.
This is where the morning's experience is received — not explained, but felt, named, and worked with.
Free time is not empty time.
Meals together. Rest. Swimming. Walking.
Time to be with what has moved.
The unstructured moments of a retreat are often where the most important processing happens.
Each evening closes the day consciously.
Creative integration
Journaling, group sharing
Symbolic work, or simple presence.
Some evenings are quiet. One ends around a fire. Each one allows the day to be received before the next one begins.
