After breakfast, we leave the tropical jungle dales and stroll along a course that trips until it arrives at a rough incline covered with heather. The way swings west as it goes through a waterway gorge. This is the ideal chance to loosen up, feast, and relax at the Shira camping area.

On this day you will continue east from the Shira Plateau, along an edge, getting through the intersection towards Kibo's highest point. As we go, our course moves toward the south-east, towards the Lava Tower known as the "Shark's Tooth."
