Demerara River Evening Tour with meal at Prairie Hotel (Option)

Discover the Demerara River on a relaxing and informative river cruise along one of Guyana’s three main rivers. Enjoy a taste of Guyana’s biodiversity and vibrant river life as you pass river taxis operating on the Vreed-en-Hoop to Georgetown route.

From the water, take in impressive views of both the iconic floating Demerara Harbour Bridge and the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge, Guyana’s modern cable-stayed landmark. As the journey continues, you’ll pass the river islands of Inver, Borselem and Biesen, learning about their fascinating Dutch and British colonial history.

City Tour Highlights

Georgetown, capital city and chief port of Guyana, was renowned for its wooden 19th century architecture. Today, Georgetown’s skyline is fast changing as the city transforms into a 21st century metropolis.
