Experience the Apostle Islands, the Crown Jewels of Northern Wisconsin with a group of adventure-minded BOW women. Feel the thrill of crossing big water, and enjoy gliding through sandstone arches, and in and out of sea caves.
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a U.S. national lakeshore consisting of 21 islands and about 70,000 acres of shoreline. It is known for its collection of historic lighthouses, sandstone sea caves, a few old-growth remnant forests, and cultural history. For us, it is the perfect playground for adventure and exploration.

Today is a full day on the water. We will kayak from Sand Bay to Sand Island. Experience crossing big water as you traverse Lake Superior's mainland shoreline to Sand Island. Explore sea caves along the island, and take a hike to a light house after a picnic lunch.
Sand Island is one of the 22 Apostle Islands and is one of the most diverse naturally and culturally; fantastic sea caves, a historic lighthouse, hiking trails, beaches, apple orchards, even model T Fords! Since time won't allow us to explore everything Sand Island has to offer we will base our itinerary on safety and group interests.
Dinner will be takeout from a local restaurant.

I enjoy teaching people how to paddle. This trip will immerse you into the natural beauty of the water, the geology and unique features of paddling the largest great lake. Fun, adventure and memories are the rewards of paddling with me as your guide.
