4North's Co-Founders, Matt Gewirtz and Tyler Lagalo, traveled to the Dominican Republic 4 years ago for their first global responsibility assignment. They discovered the incredible people, culture and way of life. Today, after several programs and projects, they are inviting a small group to travel with them and witness what continues to bring 4North volunteers back.

Beyond The Blue, our signature experience, explores beautiful landscapes, rich culture and inviting people. In addition to the volunteer projects that align with our *focus areas, we will have the opportunity to turn your journey into an adventure by white water rafting, paragliding, hiking to waterfalls and much more.

Join us, in an effort to make a difference and service the people of the Dominican Republic. This is the adventure you are looking for.

Projects may include non medical eye exams, home restoration, delivering drinkable water (DarAgua), immediate food assistance, children's movie night, and much more.

NOTE:

•ALL Deposits are REFUNDABLE in the form of CREDIT on a future 4North trip for up to 90 days after booking date.

•Arrival/ Departure flights must be through Santo Domingo - Las Américas International Airport (SDQ)

Arrival: After your 4North Representative greets you at the airport, you'll be transported to the team guest house. Once you're settled in, we will review the projects and programs for the rest of the week.

Day 2
Tour & Delivery: We will start our day by visiting the water filtration center and local markets to pick up drinkable water (DarAgua) and food for neighboring communities. We will spend our day delivering to families, schools and medical clinics in need. In addition, we will tour and discuss past 4North Projects, in hopes to inspire your own. We will travel to locations such as past build projects, local colmados and homes. This is also a great opportunity to embrace the island's culture, beauty and way of life.

Day 3
Life In The DR: Making connections and giving back is what we pride ourselves in. We will tour small communities offering our non-medical eye exam services. This gives people a sense of security as they see clearly for the first time. Once finished, we will relax by one of our poolside locations for the remainder of the day.

Day 4
Choose Your Own Adventure: We will be heading out to the beautiful mountains in Jarabacoa, the adventure capitol of the Dominican Republic. Throughout our adventurous day of paragliding, white water rafting and hiking we will have time to grab lunch at one of the breathtaking mountainside restaurants.

•All adventure activities are subject to change due to availability and weather.

The is a fee for the adventure add-ons: Paragliding $65 / White Water Rafting $65

Community Outreach While you become immersed in the culture, we’ll journey to Dunes de Bani near Las Salinas beach for some local sightseeing. We will also be watching the island's most popular sport, baseball! After the game, we will join a Dominican family for an authentic meal before we start our movie presentation for the children in the community.
