About this trip

For the adventurer and nature lover… for the chocoholic… for the yogi… for YOU!

Join Liz Getman and BFREE BZ in a choco-creation from February 24 through March 3, 2018 for a week of Cacaoga (cacao + yoga) and adventure in a lush, tropical cacao forest in Southern Belize. (That's right: Sip sacred, heart-opening cacao AND do yoga in an actual chocolate forest!)

Located on a private reserve surrounded by almost 2 million acres of tropical forest (check out the photos posted below!), your retreat includes 7 days of daily yoga and meditation, the freshest cacao (make your own chocolate!), a visit to the breathtakingly beautiful beach of Placencia, and plenty of rest and adventure (think: hiking, visits to ancient Mayan archeological sites, swimming in natural pools and lagoons, exploring our neighboring cacao forest, and naptime in a hammock or two). Your eco-friendly rooms, travel to and from each site, and all meals are included in the cost of this retreat.

Our retreat site is the aptly named BFREE (Belize Foundation for Research & Environmental Education) organization, a 501c3 nonprofit with the mission “to conserve the biodiversity and cultural heritage of Belize.” BFREE seeks to achieve its mission by successfully integrating scientific research, environmental education and conservation, while also enhancing sustainable development and providing alternative livelihoods for local community members.
