Itinerary

Days 1 and 2
Arrival and Thimphu valley with a tsechu festival

Spend two days in Bhutan’s capital city of 0.1 million people exploring the local farmer’s market, numerous arts and crafts stores, museums and sacred spaces. A wander around this relaxed and friendly city gives a glimpse of the co-existence of urban and ancient Bhutan. Young men and women in tees and jeans stroll the streets for gourmet food, entertainments and work, while the elderly citizens chant mantras, spin prayers wheels and circumambulate sacred monuments sprawled over the valley.

Partake in nne of the most sacred and famous festivals, the annual Thimphu Tsechu, a religious event celebrating an iconic spiritual masters (Guru Rinpoche) often considered the second Buddha . There are sacred masked dances performed by monks along with folk dances by the local men and women.

Samsara Asia
Journeys with Saṃsāra Asia is a process to unplug and disconnect from our ‘more and more, faster and faster’ world to slow down, breathe, and re-connect with the places, the people and with our own inner stillness. Saṃsāra Asia was founded by Tshering L. in 2016 to create sensory journeys based on her own traveling experiences through some of the most sacred places on earth. We believe, a journey is about traveling the inner landscapes of the mind while drifting through places and meeting its people.
