About this trip

A holiday of yoga and bicycling awaits you in The Land of the Long White Cloud. For 14 days and 13 nights experience the culture and countryside of New Zealand!

From the wild West Coast to the white sand beaches of the East Coast, across remote, back

country North Island New Zealand. We'll start in the Taranaki Region and end in the Capital City of Wellington.

We'll practice yoga on lakesides, beaches, and picturesque parks and enjoy cycle rides on quiet, rural roads and limesand trails. Yoga complements cycling by improving flexibility, aiding recovery and enhancing mindfulness. There can be a meditative quality that settles into our bodymind as we pedal. There is also the therapeutic effect of being in nature that reduces stress and promotes clarity. Bicycle Therapy is happening...

Inspired transformation. Intentional conversation. Lasting friendships.

Ride everyday. Ride every other day. Ride one day.

Electric Bike option available.

The Basics

This private tour is graded moderate.  The rides are not technical but you do need to be capable  of cycling distance between 30-50km (19-31 miles)per day, for consecutive days. On-road sections may have low to moderate traffic levels, mostly on back-roads and riders need to be confident riding in some traffic. Ebikes are suitable if ridden appropriately and manage battery life (i.e. not on turbo the whole time, and in the correct chain ring for climbing hills). With the trip being fully supported, you can also choose to ride shorter sections and hop in the van at any time.

By it's very nature adventure travel involves an element of the unexpected. To get the most out of your adventure it is important that you are mentally flexible, positive and eager to take on all the challenges that arise. If you are uncertain about your suitability for this trip, please contact us directly.

The itinerary represents the most current information and should be viewed as a guide only.  This itinerary may change at any time due to inclement weather, forces of nature and other circumstances beyond our control.

This was a very wholesome and humbling retreat! Beautiful scenery and incredible food, along with a wonderful community of supportive, like-minded people. I think in time and silence we all learned a little bit about ourselves as humans by following two amazing women, DeEtta and Crystal. I would highly recommend any kind of retreat from Damselfly Yoga and am counting down the days until the next one!

This trip was amazing! It was the perfect blend of rest and relaxation and activity. I especially enjoyed the day trip to San Juan La Laguna and experiencing the Mayan culture through ceremony, song, dress, cacao, and coffee. I would definitely recommend this retreat to anyone looking to recharge and rejuvenate!
