Dolomites 2024 - CME trip (wilderness medicine) with MedTreksI nternational Just finished a nine night CME trip with med treks international. I’m uro and convinced 4 other girlfriends (hospitalist, ER, cards EP, urogyn) to join trip and it was AMAZING. I had wanted to the Dolomites ever since I heard about them and thought about backroads and it was so expensive. I was going to lose my CME money and was able to sign up for this. We stayed 3 nights in ortisei (Planlim hotel), 3 nights in San vigilio (Excelsior) and 3 nights in cortina (Grand Savoie). Most meals included. The hotels were awesome. I had three massages while there. We did the following hikes: Seceda/Odles Alpi di Suisi Fannes Sennes Tre Cime Cinque Torri We were able to take part in the bike sellaronda day and biked 4 passes and 36 miles. She was also going to give us the option of paragliding after a bunch of us want to do it when we saw people and Seceda doing it but then checking out when we heard a story of someone dying after being pulled up into some thing. Never felt over crowded in our group (maybe we had 12 ppl? Never counted) . It was actually nice to travel with a a bunch of like minded ppl- doctors and NPs (a lot of these guys and gals have traveled all over the world) . Our teacher was great. Her name was Cheryl and she’s a veteran in wilderness medicine. She taught us how to pee standing up because she had to learn how to pee on a glacier without showingMedTreks Internationaleveryone. That’s juMedTreks International Our guide was a local named Andreas. he helped organize all the gondola lifts, and the tracks and the lunches and snacks which were at at Refugios. The organizer is a nurse practitioner that basically does this as a job now. her name is Ari and she is amazing and plans phenomenal trips. her father was a physician and did similar things so she grew up doing this. If you look at her other trips and her Instagram MedTreks International, you can see what types of trips she plans. I really really want to do her Macchu Piccu and Morocco trip. They have a photographer on the trip that teaches photography and also does photos of you if you want. I was too cheap to do this part. The Dolomites were stunning and I hope one day to go back with my kids and husband. we only saw like maybe 1/5 of it . It’s so kid friendly. And i want to do the Alta via1. Looking at the other post and Maddox travel looks like there’s other pretty awesome places to stay too. my favorite of the three was Excelsior though. so many amenities and hikes included. They’re part of the wanderlust hotels group - make sure to look these up if you’re going there Anyways hope you like the pics. Some were taken by people in our group and not just me We started from Venice and ended in Venice so my girlfriend and I stayed one night on each end of the trip. Definitely recommend Canaletto Luxury suites which overlooks Saint Mark Square and Palazzo dei Fiori in San Marco area because it was so funky and beautifully furnished in a great location. — with Mirms GZ and Marguerite Rose.

The Kenya global medicine trip was well organized and gave an insightful overview of the Village Hopecore program. It was a privilege to work alongside the dedicated Kenyan health care providers. I learned so much about global healthcare. The Kenyan safari and beach time were amazing. The Namibia trip was awesome. All the lodges we stayed at were comfortable and in great locations. The safari and other activities were unique and incredible adventures.

What a fabulous adventure!! Exceeded every expectation I had. Great travel group and wonderful coordination of all the annoying things about travel. Transport, hotels, options for day trips were all done for me - so I got to just enjoy! A little bit of medicine, public health, learning and CME mixed in but a whole lot of adventures, experiences, and opportunities to be immersed in other cultures. The lodging exceeded my expectations and felt very authentic to the places we were. The people we met were incredible and so welcoming. I can highly highly recommend!

This was the most incredible combo trip with Ari! Getting involved with Village HopeCore in Kenya was inspiring. It is an outstanding organization. The safaris and beach trips in both countries were unforgettable. I highly recommend any trip with Medtreks!

Cannot say enough amazing things about Ari and the MedTreks International experience!! I travelled to Morocco in November on a MedTreks trip and I am still so blown away reflecting on not only our travels, but the incredible people I met along the way, and the heart behind this company. I'll start by saying WOW ~ the trip was incredible!! Ari is an exceptional guide and curated the most thoughtful and well-rounded trip. I truly felt immersed in the culture and learned so much about Morocco. It is a country so unique and unlike anywhere I've ever traveled before. Trip highlights were the sunset camel ride in the Sahara, a tagine cooking class, and of course the hamam spa day! All of the food was EXCELLENT, and our accommodations were fantastic. We were given a thorough itinerary in advance, had two awesome locals guiding us through the country, visited the most amazing spots, and had several intimate cultural experiences, for example, having lunch with the Nomadic Berber people in their home. I highly recommend to all considering - all you have to do is show up and be ready for awe and wonder. I also want to mention - MedTreks seems to attract really amazing individuals for their trips - it was so fun getting to know each person in our group which made the experience that much better. Having previously taken group trips, this community felt especially connected and I only have positive things to say about the experience!! I think everyone drawn to MedTreks has a heart for adventure, life-long learning, and meaningful connection. MedTreks has an unbelievable depth of knowledge having run tours worldwide for some 40 years now - I was blown away in conversation with Ari and with other travelers who have been on a trip with them in past. To hear about the trip planning and seriously INCREDIBLE experiences they coordinate inspires me to do all my travels with them!! Learning more about the positive impact of the trips on local cultures and the MedTreks foundation in Kenya is also so cool. It feels like this company is a hidden gem putting together once in a lifetime moments for people.
