July and August are like spring in Southeast Arizona. As regular thunderstorms bring cooler temperatures and rains, the desert is abloom with wildflowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and the forested canyons and hills teem with birds feasting on the abundance of
seeds, insects, and fruits.
This is an extraordinary season to look for the many specialty birds that Arizona is renowned for: Elegant Trogon, Lucifer Hummingbird, Gilded Flicker, Five-striped Sparrow, Red-faced Warbler, Montezuma Quail and much, much more.
And to make the trip even more exciting, we will be joined by Christina Baal, the amazing artist who painted the ABA’s Bird of the Year 2022: Burrowing Owl! So not only will we get a chance to see these gorgeous owls, you can learn how to draw them too!
