This full-day birding tour explores the rich and varied habitats around Dar es Salaam, combining the ancient coastal forests of Pugu Hills with the scenic mangroves and shorelines along the coast. Starting in the early morning, we’ll bird along forest trails in Pugu, known for its biodiversity and endemism, before continuing to coastal wetlands and estuaries in search of species adapted to mangrove and shoreline environments. The mix of forest interior, woodland edge, wetlands, and coastal zones offers excellent diversity within a single day. Ideal for both visiting and resident birders looking for a rewarding birding experience near the city.
