On the “Birdwatching in the Amazon” tour you will be accompanied by a professional who will help you spot various incredible bird species of the area, you will visit an indigenous community and several nature reserves.
We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the nature reserve Tanimboca, where we will enjoy a typical lunch. In the afternoon, while leisurely strolling through Leticia, showing you the “Isla Fantasia” and witness the spectacular scene of parrots arriving for sunset at the Santander Park. Afterwards, we enjoy a meal in a typical restaurant before we head back to the nature reserve.

While we head down the Arenosa river we will try and spot different types of birds. After we have breakfast we continue our journey by taxi until we reach the spot where we can enter the rainforest to start our walk to the Indigenous community of Bora. Once arriving at Bora we enjoy a typical lunch and learn about the medicinal usages of Mambe, Coca and Tabaco. We then continue to the Pichuna Reserve to enjoy the Pichuna waterfall and of course look out for more birds. After dinner there is the option to go for a night walk.

We will get up early in the morning, to try and spot the birds, after which we will have breakfast. We will then head to the port and take the public boat to Mocagua. During the boat ride we will have the chance to spot some more birds. After lunch in the village we take the boat to the river and waterfall of MataMata, where we will get the chance to learn more about the flora and fauna of the area. We end the day with a local dinner.

We will head out early by boat to reach the Yanayacu waterfall in Peru to observe the birds there. After breakfast we take the public boat to the Nature Reserve Marasha in Peru. Depending on the water level we will either walk or take a boat to reach the “flooded forest”. We will have lunch in the Nature Reserve and have the opportunity to take a canoe to observe the birds of this area. We will also be able to go out at night and try to spot alligators and nocturnal birds. We then have dinner and relax for the rest of the evening.

After breakfast we take the public boat back to Leticia and bring you to the airport or hotel. If time allows it, we can show you a few highlights of the town before your departure.
