      About this trip

      Join us on a weekend getaway to the DMV (Washington DC - Maryland - Virginia). 


      We'll visit two museums in the Washington DC/Maryland area: National Museum of African American History and Culture (Washington DC) and National Great Blacks In Wax Museum (Baltimore, Maryland).  


      Saturday evening, we'll attend the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo in Maryland. Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo, America’s only touring black rodeo, sports a unique blend of wholesome Black culture, bold athleticism and American patriotism on full display. During our time in the DMV, we'll take in some of the sites and sounds of Washington DC and Baltimore, Maryland (the Inner Harbor).

      - A paper ticket will not be issued for this trip. When you arrive at the bus, please check in with the host/hostess. They will have your name on a roster.

      - Outlets will be available on the bus for you to plug in your electronic devices.

      - All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

      - No senior or children discounts available.

      - The Washington DC / Maryland African American Heritage Tour is a bundled package. It cannot be separated. 

      How To Pay

      You have three ways to pay for your trip.


      1) Online: You can pay online by credit card or debit card.  Online payments will incur a 4% service charge. This is to account for Stripe service fees.


      2) Mail: Don't trust the internet or want to avoid service fees, you can mail your payment to:

      Make money orders/cashiers’ checks payable to The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club. Personal checks are not accepted.  


      Please include a letter with your payment noting the following information: Name of the Attendee(s), Contact phone number, Contact email address. Please call or email us when you are mailing a payment. We do not check our mailbox everyday. 


      3) In Person: You can drop off a payment at our office in Norfolk, Virginia with the Receptionist from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our office is located at 500 East Main Street, Norfolk, Virginia (BB&T building in downtown Norfolk). We are located on the 16th floor inside of the Gather co-working space. Your payment (money order/cashier’s check) must be in a seal envelope with the following information written on the front of the envelope: The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club #1667. Inside the envelope, please include a letter with your payment noting the following information: Name of the Attendee(s), Contact phone number, Contact email address, Contact mailing address. We will mail you a receipt. We do not accept cash or personal checks for payments made in person. Please call or email us when you are planning to drop off a payment.  


       We DO NOT accept payment by phone.  

      COVID-19 Policy

      As COVID-19 is an evolving situation, The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club staff and venues will adhere to all state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19 and will continue to update our policy as necessary. Certain destinations may require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for access to local restaurants, tourist spots and on-site amenities, such as gyms, food and beverage areas and other common areas.  Additionally, face coverings may have to be worn except when eating or drinking.  As state and local guidelines are updated, we will make you aware of any changes that would affect our travel plans. 


      By purchasing a ticket to our trips, tour, and events, you understand and  acknowledge that a risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.  In attending our trips, tours, and events, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and waive, release, and discharge The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and all of their affiliates, employees, contractors, staff, and associates from any and all liability for any illness or injury due to COVID-19 exposure. 

      Booking Changes and Cancellation Policy

      All payments are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another trip/tour. However, an existing reservation can be changed to another person. Please see the "Name Change Policy" section below.  


      If you opt into a payment plan, please pay accordingly to the schedule. If more than two consecutive payments are missed, your reservation(s) will be cancelled and any payment(s) made will be forfeited.   Always contact us if you are unable to meet payment deadlines.  


      Pricing is based on room occupancy (the number of people staying in a room together).  If your roommate cancel or removed from the trip due to missing more than two consecutive payments, a price adjustment will incur to cover the remaining hotel cost.  You are allowed to replace your roommate.  Please see the "Name Change Policy" below.


      No refunds are available once the trip/tour commences. In the event of a no-show by a paid attendee, no refund shall be given.

      Name Change Policy

      A name change is the cancellation of one guest and the addition of a new guest on a booking. Applicable cancellation penalties will be assessed to the original guest (owner of the booking) plus a $50 administration fee to make a name change.  The new guest will be subject to pay any outstanding balance that was not paid for by the original guest. 


      The original guest must send written response via email to info@thepacktravelclub.com requesting a name change and provide the following information of the new guest

      1) Name

      2) Phone Number

      3) Email Address


      Only the original guest can request the name change.  The ownership of the reservation will be transferred once the original guest has provide the new guest information and have paid the $50 administration fee. 

      Travel Insurance

      Travel insurance is offered by a third party, Allianz Global Assistance, not The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club. Plans underwritten by BCS Insurance Company, Jefferson Insurance Company or Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Affiliated Companies, depending on insured's state of residence and plan type. Plan(s) may not be available to residents of all states.

      Travelers insurance is not required in order to join a trip/tour. 

      Medical Conditions and Special Request

      The Client must inform The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club on the registration page of any medical conditions, food allergy, disability, and/or physical condition. Failure to notify us may result in the Client being refused certain activities during the tour.


      It is absolutely vital that you are accurate with your fitness level and medical conditions for your safety.


      The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club will do their best to meet special requests including dietary or physical limitations but such requests may not always be possible depending on the tour, in which case The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club reserves the right to refuse Clients with certain conditions.


      As a client, you MUST carry medical insurance. Medical facilities vary from state to state and The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club will do their best to bring you to a proper medical facility if needed, but makes no representation and gives no warranties in relation to the standard of such treatment.

      Itinerary Changes

      The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club and its partners reserve the right to alter the itineraries due to weather, road conditions, or other circumstances. The itinerary may be changed or canceled at any moment due to the trip to assure the safety of our clients and staff. No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights or other services because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in schedules, or other similar causes. The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, and its partners do not assume responsibility for accidents or deaths that can be traced to the participants’ negligence, acts of third parties, or exterior circumstances such as weather, natural occurrences, ware, or other similar causes.    

      Terms and Conditions

      All persons wishing to make a booking have carefully read and understand the Terms and Conditions that follow. By making a booking, you accept on behalf of yourself and all those named on the booking, to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. A booking is accepted and becomes definite only when you have completed the deposit payment.


      Marable Enterprises (DBA The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club) hereby give notice that we do not own or operate motorcoaches, cruise lines, banquet or catering facilities, hotels, wineries, vineyards, restaurants, or attractions. All arrangements made for transportation, accommodations, cruises, sightseeing, attractions, meals, wine tastings etc., are made by us solely as AGENTS. We shall not be liable for any injury, death, accident, loss, damage, delay, or irregularity which may occur either by reason of defect in any vehicle or through the acts of default of any person or company engaged in transporting the passengers or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour.


      The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club will not be responsible for the theft, loss, or damage of baggage and personal property.


      The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club make no guarantees or warranties for any help, advice, and/or recommendations given before, during, or after the tour.


      By participating in the tour, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, and its affiliates and representatives. 


      You release The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video, and/or sound recordings.


      By participating in the tour, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club or the person or entity designated to do so by The Pack Roadtrip Travel Club.

      Single Room Occupancy

       The single room occupancy rate is $450 per person. Rate applies to one individual occupying a room.  The room will contain one (Queen or King) bed.   We have a limited quality of single bed rooms available. If the inventory sales out, you will be given a room with two Queen beds.   


      Please Note: If you are a couple that wants a room with one bed, you must pay the Double Room Occupancy Rate.  When you checkout, selection the option for one King bed.

      Double Room Occupancy

      The double room occupancy rate is $350 per person (full price is $700 for two people occupying a room).  Rate applies to two individuals occupying a room.  The room will contain two Queen beds -or- one King or Queen Bed.

      (1) If you are a couple that wants a room with one bed, you must pay the Double Room Occupancy Rate. When you checkout, selection the "Room Type" option for one King bed. 


      (2) Due to the limited availability for this tour, the deposit payment must be made at the same time for both individuals staying in the room together.  After the deposit is made, the individual that made a deposit can create a Contribution Page for their roommate(s) to make subsequent payments.  


      (3) If a member of your group cancels or is removed from the trip due to missing more than two consecutive payments, a price adjustment will incur on the remaining group members. Your final payment will be based on the number of people still attending/rooming together. You are allowed to replace any member of the group that cancels. However, the new member(s) will need to pay the full amount. Funds cannot be transferred to another person.

      Double Room Occupancy - Spilt

      The double room occupancy rate is $350 per person (full price is $700 for two people occupying a room).  Rate applies to two individuals occupying a room.  The room will contain two Queen beds -or- one King or Queen Bed.  The "Double Room Occupancy Split Payment" option allows two individuals to pay for their rooms separately.

      (1) If you are a couple that wants a room with one bed, you must pay the Double Room Occupancy Rate. When you checkout, selection the "Room Type" option for one King bed.

      (1) The maximum number of beds in a room is 2 bed. Due to hotel and Fire Marshall regulations, rollaway beds cannot be added to a room with two beds.


      (2) Due to the limited availability for this tour, the deposit payment must be made at the same time for both individuals staying in the room together.  After the deposit is made, the individual that made a deposit can create a Contribution Page for their roommate(s) to make subsequent payments.

      Itinerary

      Day 1
      Travel To Washington DC & Maryland

      Board your spacious, video, and restroom equipped motorcoach and set off to Washington DC and Maryland.


      We'll began our trip with a stop by the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC.  The NMAAHC is the world's largest museum dedicated to African-American history and culture. It ranked as the fourth most-visited Smithsonian museum in its first full year of operation. The museum has more than 3,500 items/artifacts on display.


      After touring the museum, we'll check into our hotel in Largo, Maryland.  Then, we'll attend the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo. The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo celebrates and honors Black Cowboys and Cowgirls and their contributions to building the west. They highlight the irrefutable global appeal of Black Cowboys and Cowgirls in the West and the stories behind a sub-culture that is still strong today.

       

      After rodeo, we'll head back to the hotel.

      Five stars! The attention to details was wonderful. Because it was the second year for the event, there are, of course, kinks to work out. In the future, maybe have more than two lines for wine tasting. Five should do it, if the vendors can handle the volume. Looking forward to next year!

      I enjoyed the bus trip and the driver made the ride very smoothly to our destination and Fun. However, the reason for my rating is the trip overall experience at the Rose event. It was not worth the amount of money to go to this event. I did not throughly enjoy myself nor was I able to look at the venue and art or enjoy the other events at the Rose event that took place. Most of my time was spent in line waiting to sample the Rose wine. When our group tried to sample wines outside we was directed back to the line. It took at least 1 hr 1/2 to 2hrs to sample some of the rose wines. I do not believe that they was prepared for the amount of people that arrive to the event. I did enjoy the different roses that was there from various wineries to taste. I have been a few that was there at the event. Some of the people that were pouring the wine were not fully knowledgeable on the price or some the questions i had regarding the samples. The food was not worth the money either. I wanted a hotdog was coleslaw only I was told I had to purchase it with the chili and coleslaw or have it plain. The hotdogs were made to order, so I was very perplexed as to why I'm paying 15 dollars for something I want that I can't get it the way I want it. I would have rather took a bus trip to some of the various wineries in charlottesville than to waste most of my time in line for wine tasting. I did like the music 🎶 the dj was great and the venue overall was beautiful but unfortunately I spent most of my time in line.

      I had a great time. Experiencing a historical luncheon spot Michie Tavern and the beautiful, peaceful surrounding on grounds of the Daze of Rose' event. Good wine, good people, good food = great day!

      I had a wonderful day. It was a very nice trip. The food at Michie Tavern was good. The staff was very attentive and served us quickly. There was no wait if you wanted something. I was happy to be able to get vegetarian/pescatarian options as well . I am sorry the lines were so long at The Daze of Rose. I was not able to actually taste the wines this year. I only tasted a couple that were outside the venue at the tent area. I hope they organize it a bit better next year . I really like when we can go from booth to booth and can take our own time to taste the wines.
