WHAT IS ESCAPING YOUR COMFORT ZONE BODY POSITIVE ADVENTURES?

This is a body positive, slow paced trip, hosted by leaders Melissa and Cindy at Escaping Your Comfort Zone.

Escaping Your Comfort Zone is Body Positive Adventures for women and non-binary crew. The outdoors don't care about your size, your speed or your fitness, and neither do we! 100% body positive, no focus on weightloss. Just having fun in the outdoors, cause we can! As always, we walk at the pace of the slowest person, and no one is left behind.

Location

Mt Baw Baw Village, 1.5hrs from Warragul and approx 2.5hrs from Melbourne CBD.

We'll be staying at Edski lodge with private rooms for everyone.

Start time: Check in after 2pm - 31 March 2023

End time: Check out 12noon - 2 April 2023.

You will need to make your own way to Mt Baw Baw, though carpooling is encouraged.  We will arrange carpooling to and from the hikes.

Mt Baw Baw tourist village is located 1.5hrs from Warragul. This makes it the closest ski resort to Melbourne (although we'll be there in the green season!). Mt Baw Baw is also only an hour from the historic village of Walhalla, which could make a great stop on your way.

We are staying at EdSki Lodge with private rooms for everyone. The lodge also contains a pool table, table tennis, tv room and library. You'll need to bring a sheet, doona/sleeping bag and pillow as well as toiletries and a towel.

Mt Baw Baw is easily reached via either the South Face Rd from Moe, or via the Tourist Rd from Noojee. Both will take the same time from Warragul, however for an easier drive I recommend South Face Rd - it is wider and less windy, although it is a (well-graded) gravel road for 25kms. Going via South Face Rd means you can also visit Walhalla on your way. The route via Nojee is definitely for the adventurous, with a narrow and very windy road for approx 60km.

Please note there is NO petrol after Moe (if going via South Face Rd) and Neerim South (if going via the Tourist Rd). Please ensure you fill up before heading up the mountain.

Is it for you?

YES! I cannot stress enough this is VERY beginner friendly, or those just starting out. You can opt in or out of any activity, and only do those you are comfortable with. You don't need any level of fitness, there's plenty of downtime for naps, or heading across the road for coffee!

What to bring

- Bottom sheet (size TBA)

- pillow

- towel

- doona/sleeping bag

 -toiletries

-first aid kit, including any medications you may need, this includes antihistamines if you suffer from allergic reactions, as well as bandaids, etc. Your health is your responsibility.

- backpack for the hike/s

-sturdy runners with laces, or hiking boots.

Loved having the chance to meet with like minded women who just wanted to get out there and do activities regardless of their Size. The weekend was a great mix of adventure, down time and float time. Richelle did a great job of arranging everything we needed for the weekend and making all feel welcomed. Looking forward to meeting up with some of the ladies in future.
