We will pick you up at the Río Negro international airport, and we will transport you to our accommodation in Cauca Viejo, a spectacular place thanks to the strength and life with which the Cauca River crosses the region. In the evening we will have a welcome dinner, where we will give you your kit and tell you about what we will experience in the coming days

Stage 1: Cauca Viejo - Jericó - Cauca Viejo
We began our adventure with the ascent to Jericó, a town at the top of the western mountain range of the Andes, the landscape throughout the ascent is impressive, as is the demand of the ascent. After having a coffee and getting to know Jericho a little, we will return to our accommodation to rest a little.

Stage 2: Cauca Viejo - Fredonia - Cauca Viejo
The second stage will take us to climb the central mountain range of the Andes to a town called Fredonia, where we will have a coffee, eat something and return. In the afternoon we have organized an activity for you in the area to enjoy and learn a little more about the area.

Stage 3: Cauca Viejo - Bolombo - Cauca Viejo
The third stage will be a bit of recovery, we will leave the long climbs for today and ride on the banks of the Cauca River, surrounded by the canyon formed by the River itself. Today we will have the advice to start the stage early, because it is a humid and very hot area. In the afternoon we will go to town in Jericho and learn a little about its history.

Stage 4: Cauca Viejo - Tarso - Pueblo Rico - Cauca Viejo
Today we return to the western mountain range, climbing between mountains full of coffee plantations and lush landscapes! We will pass first through Tarsus and then to Pueblo Rico, until we reach Jericho again. How this is an adventure! We will have a surprise for those who don't want to go down by bike!

Stage 5: Cauca Viejo - Concordia - Bolombo + transfer to Jardin
The last stage of our adventure will take us to know Concordia, a traditional Antioquian coffee town, surrounded by immense coffee plantations and beautiful views. We will descend from Concordia by bike to the Bolombo intersection, where we will continue our journey in the van towards Jardin to spend the afternoon and spend the last night of this great adventure there!

Goodbye
We hope you enjoyed your last night in Jardin, it is a town with spectacular architecture that contains great history and Colombian culture. Before noon we will leave by vehicle for the Río Negro airport. It is a 3h30 tour, so we recommend that you reserve your tickets for the end of the day. If you are going to stay a few more days in Medellin we can take you wherever you tell us!

Sebastián and his team at Bonobo Adventures were nothing short of remarkable. I have been traveling to Colombia for over 30 years. Always for work. But it has been my dream to visit other parts of the country and, for me, the best way to get to know a land and its people is by bike. Here I am in my 60's and Bonobo made it possible for me to visit the Antioquia region. To explore the Cauca River valley and to climb the peaks around Medellin. Humble and beautiful lodgings along with humble and beautiful people. The Paisas de Medellín! Cannot recommend this group highly enough. Colombia is wonderful, and there's no better way to get to see it, feel it, and know it than with Sebastián Mahecha and the team at Bonobo! I thank them all for a trip of a lifetime.

The Specialized Creo bikes were fantastic for touring Antioquia, especially some of the challenging climbs on the Bonobo Adventures itinerary.

What a fabulous trip!! I can't recommend Bonobo Adventures and the Antioquia region more highly. Every step of the way, Sebastian anticipated each detail, and what could have been a complicated tour (6 nights, 4 hotels, 6 cycling days) worked out very smoothly. His team, with Alejandro as van driver, David as mechanic and Stefani as new marketing hire helping out with our tour, handled everything professionally. Just as important, we got to know them all as people by sharing most meals together, even with a little language barrier between us. The Antioquia landscapes are jaw-droppingly beautiful. Sebastian chose routes that included a couple of iconic climbs, but with the Specialized Creo e-assist road bikes, we three middle-aged Americans reached the top just fine. The hotels were comfortable, spotlessly clean and professionally staffed. My favorite was the Casa de las Campanas guest house in Cauca Viejo, where we were the only guests and Adriana treated us to excellent Colombian cuisine prepared in the open kitchen while we relaxed in the pool or veranda. Two surprise afternoon activities (no spoilers!) really added to our feel for this remarkable region. Go with Bonobo Adventures, and tell your friends to do the same!
