Next, our journey takes us to Lindisfarne , also known as Holy Island, where Saint Aidan founded a monastery in 635 AD, igniting the spread of Christianity. The island's dramatic history includes the pivotal Viking raid of 793, marking the onset of the Viking Age in Europe. We will explore the ruins of the Priory and Lindisfarne Castle, immersing ourselves in their ancient stories.
