Experience the wild beauty of Botswana on this exclusive in-depth 13-day African safari adventure!
This is our first (and possibly only!) group trip to Botswana, and we’re keeping it intimate and intentional with just two safari vehicle and only 13 spots available. That means more space, more flexibility, and a deeper connection with nature. And we are partnering with one of the top rated local companies!
We’ll be glamping in the wilderness for 6 days, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta and beyond, fully immersed in the sounds and sights of untouched Africa. We will be visiting the habituated Meerkats and sleeping on the salt plains under the stars!
Our journey includes sunrise and sunset game drives, tracking the Big Five and cruising the Chobe River surrounded by wildlife.
Botswana is known for its high-value, low-impact tourism model — which means it's more expensive than other destinations, but for good reason. The country limits visitor numbers to protect its ecosystems and prioritize conservation, giving you a safari that’s truly wild and unspoiled.
This tour includes an off-grid adventure with long drives on bumpy sandtrack in an open vehicle and camping in places without electricity and running water with no fences or other boundaries around us. This is not a luxury trip! While countries like Tanzania and Kenya have developed infrastructure to facilitate tourism, Botswana has chosen to preserve its raw, untouched nature. It’s going to be an epic ADVENTURE!
Non-refundable deposit to hold your spot. Trip is nonrefundable 90 days out.

without tent (not in wildlife territory): bedroll provided and shared toilet. A Bedroll is a big sleeping bag with blankets inside and a mattress.
While on safari
Welcome to Botswana! Our professional driver will pick you up from Maine Airport and bring you to our first lodge.
Here, you’ll have time to relax after your flight and meet your fellow travelers we gather for a welcome dinner at 7:30pm.
We begin our drive to the Okavango Delta. Upon arrival in the Okavango Delta, you meet our poler — a local villager who will guide you on an unforgettable journey through the delta’s winding channels. Born and raised in the Okavango, the polers and guides are passionate and deeply knowledgeable about this unique ecosystem. They take us deep into the waters of the delta in a traditional mokoro, a dugout canoe carved from a single tree.
At midday, we stop on one of the delta’s islands for a packed lunch and a guided walking safari, where you can explore the bush on foot and experience the wild up close.
Our guide then leads us to the campsite, located along a peaceful river channel, where our team awaits you. Before your first bush dinner, you’ll have time to freshen up! Enjoy dinner out in the park!
Spend the whole day deep inside the Okavango. Explore the channels by Mokoro (traditional canoe) and go on a game drives with an experienced guide on the islands of the Okavango Delta.
We will be woken up with a warm “Dumela“ (That is the Setswana word for “Hello“) and a light breakfast waiting for you. After coffee, tea, and breakfast, you go on your first game viewing activity (either a nature walk or a canoe excursion). When returning to camp, you have the opportunity to shower. Afterwards, you will be served brunch. In the afternoon, you enjoy a second game viewing activity, a game drive.
Enjoy delicious meals cooked over the bushfire by our experienced bush chef and share the experiences of the day in the evening sitting around the bushfire before falling asleep in your comfortable tent with the noises of animals and the bush around you.
After a short morning gamedrive in the Okavango Delta, we continue the journey to
Makgadikgadi. Half way we have a lunch stop in Maun, where you can have a meal e.g. at the Okavango Craft Brewery and taste our local craft beer and the Okavango Gin.
We then start the drive down south and into Ntwetwe Pan.
First stop is at the colony of wild Meerkats, who live on the edge of the Ntwetwe salt pan!! (This is what I'm most excited about! Timon from Lion King!) With a little luck we have the once in a life time opportunity to observe their natural behaviors and charming personalities from almost touching distance!
After visiting the Meerkats we then continue the drive into the vast Ntwetwe salt pan, which forms part of one of the largest salt pans in the world, likened to being on the surface of the moon, the sight of the salt pan is truly one to behold!
Today we are up for a special treat: We will sleep under the stars in the vast open landscape of the salt pans (no tent). With the sky like a semi-globe above and around us, we enjoy this awe- inspiring moment and endulge in stargazing.
You can sit around the camp fire until you get in your bedroll and close your eyes for your night under the stars.
Wake up in the salt pan to an unforgettable sunrise.
Enjoy the moment and a cup of coffee.
And after breakfast we hope to meet the San people who take us on a bush walk where we can learn about their culture and traditions.
Around lunchtime/early afternoon we are back in civilization and you can enjoy the comfort of a hotel bed :)
In the early morning, we leave our accommodation in Maun and head straight to Moremi Game Reserve in our open 4×4 safari vehicle. It’s a 1.5-hour drive on dusty sand tracks to the veterinary gate. From there, we enter wildlife territory and hope for our first exciting sightings on the way to the official park entrance, which we reach after another 1.5 hours.
Over the next few days, our highly-trained and experienced guide will lead us on a true safari adventure. We spend our time exploring the floodplains—seasonally or perennially wet landscapes of waterways, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands, and forests, including riparian, riverine, and mopane woodlands. The terrain makes driving Moremi’s many loops and trails both rewarding and at times, awe-inspiring.
Today, we enjoy a packed lunch in the bush as we make our way to camp. By sunset, we arrive at our campsite where the team is already waiting with pitched tents and a warm, freshly cooked dinner.
We spend the evening around the campfire, taking in the unforgettable experience of being deep inside the bush of the Moremi/Khwai area. Our camp is unfenced, fully immersed in nature.
While we may be close to wildlife, we can always feel safe knowing our guide is highly qualified and trained by the Botswana Guide Association.
We sleep in spacious tents with stretcher beds and proper duvets, and each day we enjoy fresh, tasty meals prepared by our dedicated Back-Up Team, who are with us 24/7.
We wake up early and enjoy a light breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive—one of the best times to spot predators on the move. With some luck and the sharp tracking skills of our guide, we may encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, or even the elusive wild dogs. Moremi is home to all the big game, offering us excellent chances for unforgettable sightings.
After the drive, we return to camp where we can refresh ourselves with a delightful bush shower. Our team will have brunch ready, giving us time to relax and recharge before setting out again once the midday heat subsides and the animals begin to reappear.
In the afternoon, we head out for another game drive, continuing our exploration of this rich and diverse landscape.
After an exciting day, we return to camp for a hearty dinner and spend the evening gathered around the fire, listening to the sounds of the bush and gazing up at the stars.
Today we move our camp from Khwai to Savute National Park. In the morning, while we enjoy a light breakfast, our team breaks down the camp and gets everything ready for the journey ahead. We then begin our cross-park drive toward Savute.
Around lunchtime, we stop in the Mababe Depression area for a picnic meal and a short siesta, taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Along the way, we pause for animal sightings and enjoy the gradual shift in scenery—from the lush green bush and mopane forests of Khwai to the open savannas of Savute.
Once we arrive, our team sets up the new camp. While a delicious dinner is being prepared, we take time to freshen up with a shower and wash off the dust from the sandy roads.
As the sun sets, we gather around the campfire, listening to the sounds of the bush and soaking in the wild beauty of Savute.
By now, we’re well into the rhythm of our daily safari schedule: an early morning wake-up, a light breakfast, a morning game drive, and then a return to camp. After brunch and a refreshing bush shower, we enjoy a short siesta before heading out again for an afternoon game drive.
This time, the landscape around us changes dramatically as we begin exploring Savute (also known as Savuti)—a remote and fascinating part of Chobe National Park. This region is famous for its mysterious, unpredictable water channel that flows and dries up without clear connection to local rainfall or water levels. It’s believed that underground tectonic activity may influence this phenomenon. Regardless of the reason, Savute offers a truly captivating environment for wildlife lovers, bird enthusiasts, and seasoned safari travelers alike.
As we explore, we also come across iconic baobab trees standing proud in the dry landscape.
We enjoy our final sunset of the wild camping adventure as the sun dips below the horizon over the dry Savute Channel.
Meanwhile, our team sets the table for our last dinner in the bush. We gather one last time around the campfire, soaking in the sounds and stories of the wild before drifting off to sleep under the stars—one final night surrounded by the magic of Africa.
After coffee, tea, and breakfast, we begin our transfer to the Chobe Riverfront.
Around lunchtime, we arrive in Kasane.
After checking in at our accommodation, we head out on a 3-hour motorboat safari in Chobe National Park.
The Chobe Riverfront is the most visited area in all of Botswana’s parks—and for good reason.
Known for its impressive elephant population, Chobe draws wildlife lovers from all over the world. With a bit of luck, we may witness elephants swimming in the river, and there’s a good chance we’ll also encounter hippos, crocodiles, various antelope species, and even predators like lions or leopards.
The morning is dedicated to Chobe Riverfront. While you already saw the park from the water, you are today going on a gamedrive along the riverbed. We then return to your accommodation for bruch.
At 11:00h we transfer you to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The drive is about 1hr long plus 1-2 hrs of time that we spend at the border for immigration.
In the afternoon we relax to recover from a wild, adventurous 11 days. Enjoy some downtime or perhaps some wine! In the evening, we will attend a Boma Dinner and Drum Show.
Today you can explore the Victoria Falls rainforest on foot on your own and/or do additional activities that you can prebook with us in advance e.g. Zambezi Sunset Cruise or adrenaline activities such as bungee, water rafting, devils pool visit or a cultural experience such as a traditional village tour.
You can also visit the crafts market in town and buy some souvenirs and have a sundowner drink at LookOut Cafe with view over the Gorge.
The day can be as relaxing or adventurous as you want.
Say goodbye to our newly formed travel family <3
